Popped to Silverstone myself to have a final look at Lava before confirming my spec - wanted to see it in daylight as I didn't really like it when I saw it originally inside the PEC .I was hoping that it was the lights - unfortunately it wasn't - Lava Orange - not for me : Just not rich enough , looks washed out and not quite right for my eye - it's "OK" but not WOW and it needs to be WOW - I think Blood Orange (Tangerine) is deeper and as such nicer , but unfortunately this isn't available PTS frown
(it looks better - richer and deeper in colour , in the photos than in real life )
In my eyes in sun light Lave Orange looks like a 20 year old faded Guards Red. I put the two colour panels together and viewed in strong sunlight. It was surprising how relatively similar the colours were but the Guards Red was solid and retained its presence while the Lave Orange became even more washed out. Its white for me too.(it looks better - richer and deeper in colour , in the photos than in real life )

Yep , good description , I completely agree. What colour wheels are you having on your white one - I keep flipping between standard and gloss black ? RSVP911 said:

Went for the black option in satin black which matches the rear spoiler mounting brackets on the white car. Also satin is similar to the plastic work so its a reasonable match. Having said that the standard platinum finish which is a darkish grey looks good too. Even the silver on the comparator actually looks ok with white. I didn`t really want white to start with but the more I see pics of it the more I think its going to be stunning. Really offers a great contrast between the body and all the aerodynamic trims and grills. On top of that the white shows the lines of the car and especially the width. White isn`t too look at me but its understatedly sporty. My last car was a 997 GT2RS so you could say I shouldn't be that excited about this car but the opposite is true its going to be fantastic all the new technology and the aerodynamics will make it an completely new experience to drive. But no doubt still a Porsche experience of driver involvement and pleasure.. Edited by GR GT2RS on Thursday 9th July 19:15

Cheers - yep agree , never wanted white either , but as time has gone on , I too think its going to loop epic in White - do you know which white it is , is it Carrara White ? The brochure just lists it as plain old White. Edited by GR GT2RS on Thursday 9th July 19:15
Wheels , I went of the plain wheel as I thought in black the wheel slightly blends into the tyre and gets a bit lost - but I have no idea - I'm sure both will look great
After seeing Lava at Goodwood and on road near Reading, I'm switching to another colour. I've got a Sapphire GT3 and really like this colour. If they'll make me one, I might go Sapphire again. Still contemplating but Lava is out - disappointing in the metal. Why didn't they make it a vibrant orange?

Yes this is the problem with a black wheels the ultra low profile aspect of the tyres are lost a little. Its a difficult call. The white is absolutely bog standard flat white. It is not Carrera white. Don't worry too much about UV it looks pretty when stationary and its definitely a nice colour but carry's a more limited sporting presence especially on the move. Incidentally have you incorporated any orange at all in your car. I have tried very hard to at least make some sort of gesture to the theme that Porsche so desperately wanted to pursue. Orange highlights leather interior and an orange painted key, orange set belts and oh an orange centre marker in the steering wheel. I think also floor matts with orange leather edging How did you do?Wheels , I went of the plain wheel as I thought in black the wheel slightly blends into the tyre and gets a bit lost - but I have no idea - I'm sure both will look great
I saw Lava at goodwood and it looked more of a washed out orange almost pink.
was not a great colour. its nowhere near as vibrant as the orange on the mk1 997 RS.
I love the purple violet colour and white looks great too.
do they do a viper green in the latest RS? always loved that colour

It's a PTS colour - however PTS may have been pulled ?? was not a great colour. its nowhere near as vibrant as the orange on the mk1 997 RS.

Who knows as far as my extensive enquires go Porsche seem in disarray over PTS. I think what has happened is that a large percentage of GT3RS owners have tried to order PTS and this has caused some issues on build scheduling. Hence it now seems they have withdrawn the option. I am starting to doubt that there will be many PTS certainly in the UK my dealer has not achieved any out of 5 cars despite repeated attempts. was not a great colour. its nowhere near as vibrant as the orange on the mk1 997 RS.

Nice spec almost identical to mine except the seats I am use to the sports seats that flip forward they are fully FIA approved and just make occasional access to the rear easier without having to slide the seat.Stitching and belts.

Didn`t go for white dials as the centre dial is lighter anyway and full white seems bright. Had the home link for the gates and garage door and the lithium battery to balance off all the extra weight I have put on the car with leather, front lift and other extras. I don`t know whether you noticed but Porsche added a later option for steering wheel centre marker changed from yellow to orange. I am surprised there is a Silver new one at OPC Swindon I was told none in UK until October/November.
