Thanks , I agree no big deal ( I was going to go white ) . I think what also helped was I knew there was going to be PTS and I had a very very early request in . The cars a cracker , that's the main thing I think .
Only really mentioned the PTS becaus Mr Matrixx raised the point
Have you got yours already - if so can you expand on "cracker" please - Just watched the EVO video - what a lucky bunch we are Only really mentioned the PTS becaus Mr Matrixx raised the point

Unfortunately not , for reasons of my own doing I suspect mine will be one of the last vehicles . I have had it whispered in my ear by someone I trust very much that the car is just fantastic and "very challenging" at the limit .I'm REALLY excited now

Fair do's . I only had a blast round the PEC for half a day and I'm no expert , but in my humble opinion , It's simply an awesome bit of engineering genius - It's quite a special thing I'm REALLY excited now

I've been giving this some thought and I've been wondering what value one would derive from an 991 RS if one already owned a 918 ? The RS although technically and emotionally brilliant (based as I said earlier , only on a little go ) it will be , I imagine , in a different , much lower , league to your 918 and as such it would be , I guess , a little like comparing the 991 RS to say a Cayman GTS , which I'm sure in its own right is a great car , but I wouldn't be excited to own one as well as the RS - I suppose what I'm trying to say , really badly , is if I owned a 918 I would think anything that followed would disappoint and although I guess I'd still want to have an RS to play with as the experience will be a different one , I'm not sure I'd be super "excited" about its arrival as I'd be too busy in my 918 , which as you may have spotted is my dream car - it's a thing of immense beauty , an amazing thing - would you like to swap it for my wife's Fiat 500 - it's Red so it's quite a fast one ? I'm REALLY excited now

My understanding is that there will be another production of the RS in the early part of 2016. Makes you wonder whether it will incorporate any of the new features of the 991.2 .Hope it doesn't have the F.Type exhaust sound (only joking).
Yep - the exhaust on the 991.2 sounds awfulhttp://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The 918 is excellent , don't get me wrong . It's so fast , so planted , so good at everything it's almost too much . It's limits are so high you have to be behaving incredibly irresponsibly to get it to move around on the road ( it's still fun , I'm talking about moving around ) . It's also no fun on track , hear me out . It's so fast fast you end up chasing race cars etc about and not really interacting with your friends . You can't take it anywhere without the world coming to a stop , the constant being chased around by mini shmees has actually affected my enjoyment of it ( a young lad fell off his boris bike chasing me around to take pictures , it was really embarrassing . I didn't know what to do , stop and help or just carry on ). Cars chase you , do crazy manoeuvres , camera phones everywhere , people jumping in the road , it's a little too much to be honest with you . It's terribly embarrassing and has actually made me modify my driving habits somewhat . Many times I take the golf or something older when I'd like to take the 918 . Mrs doom won't get in it at all for example .Edited by RSVP911 on Saturday 12th September 08:22
The rs seems like it will be enjoyable in a completely different way , as you say a different experience . It looks like it will be more accessible at lower speeds and still enable one to actually interact with ones mates on a track day rather than going at your own pace with everyone but alone ( if you get my drift ). I must admit the gt3 didn't really excite me but the RS has for some reason really got me losing sleep . The fast that the damn thing looks so evil just standing still and the fact that apparently it still has teeth and will bite are helping . I also hope there will be less of a circus going on when I drive it around .
As for the Fiat 500 swap , kindly keep that to yourself Because Mrs Doom loves them and would probably take you up on that offer if she ever read this thread .

Thanks for the Intel - you know what , it sounds like a burden & on reflection I've decided to keep the Fiat , sorry about that ! Seriously though , the attention would really bother me too , I'd hate it and I know what you mean about the Mrs - my wife will not be seen dead in my 997.2 RS - thinks it's ridiculous , she calls it the clown car (it's white with red decas) and I imagine she will not even sit in the new one - I can hear it now "look at the bloody stupid wing , and all that black plastic , why has it got holes above the back wheels and why have you bought it in a washed out red that , in fact , looks a bit pink in certain lights , darling I love you but sometimes you are a prize tw*t ! The 991 RS definitely needs treating with respect and the inputs you make need to be appropriate or it will , without doubt , tell you to behave - whilst at the PEC my instructor managed to do a 360 in it , no drama , but all the same , you'll need to be a far better driver than me to drive it in anger , cheers R

As they say it's lonely at the top. Interesting thoughts. Even though I have never owned a supercar like the 918, I can imagine that all the attention gets annoying over time. It's almost impossible to slip under the radar while enjoying a such nice car and I'm afraid the 991 GT3RS won't be any different in this department. God forbid you have an accident in a car like that, it would be all over the internet in a matter of hours. I think that is why many like the older air cooled 911s - lots of fun to drive, limits that can be exploited on the street and perhaps most importantly they are surprisingly anonymous on the street.RSVP911 said:

Mine's the same. October build, not yet locked. As opposed to my GT4 which has just been given an October completion datenick28 said:

My OPC has 4 cars apparently and 1 is UV , been told it looks flat in real life but never seen it so who knows - I guess LO could also be described as flat also though - I think it'll be fine in any of the 4 standard cols TBH Are there many takers for UV out of interest, that was my initial choice but still debating ......
