Righty, first thoughts after 40 miles...
Handling - obviously not pushing is too much right now but the back end down let go much earlier - tyres not up to temp and not scrubbed but had the back end pretty loose on a sharp right hander. What a joy to pull back into line though - feels extremely connected. More so that the GT3. Tramlines more due to the wider front tyres.
918 steering wheel - IMO too thin. Much less chunky that the GT3.
918 seats - 6'4" so not a great shape for me. Took a lot of getting used to. In no way the GT cruiser my GT3 comfort spec was. Hair touches the roof a little. Although they are electronically height adjustable!
Looks - just unreal. You have to see it in the flesh to fully appreciate. LO is the only colour for me.
Low down revs - tap the throttle and you get a short boom through the exhaust. Probably part of the increased induction. The GT3 made no noise till it hit 3.4k rpm so this is some nice low down noise.
Downforce - seriously, fk knows what speed you would need to be doing to notice or comment on this
Delay - mine finished build on 25/9 and was due two weeks ago. I've been quiet about it as I was nervous to comment. I was told it was held back for QC but I saw a car for sale on PH similar spec to mine and as I know Porsche are very protective of people flipping, I wondered if they were trying to sus out who that was before releasing. Might not be the case. Actually turns out there's a few cosmetic issues with the car. Scratched carbon engine cover, chipped paint in the engine bay, scuffed rear splitter. Will all get sorted but all a bit odd.
That's all for now. Pics to follow.
