Been to see mine today, it had only been at Tewkesbury for a few hours. I was amazed to see that the whole car was covered in what I can only describe as a Zip up suit. I have never seen transport protection applied in such a way before. So very pleased and relieved.
Good news Rob.Do you get to keep The "Zip up suit"

I'm not sure of the facts - so please don't hold me to them - but I did hear from someone inside Porsche (and who would know) that the Factory were ‘disappointed’ by the number of cars coming up for sale at inflated prices in the UK and so they have decided to increase supply to de-heat the market (and increase their profits no doubt).
I was told this as I am on the waiting list and am hoping for a new allocation should additional cars materialise…I am lead to believe there is a very good chance I will get a car.
I spoke to a dealer yesterday (discussing gen 2 listing) and he confirmed that they are expecting a second batch / allocation of gen 1 RS’s and is calling me back today to confirm. Will of course bite his hand off if he does so!!! OK - just spoke to said dealer. Confirmed they did get a low count extra allocation and these have gone to people who were on the gen 1 list yet missed out due to them having to honor the automatic allocation given to 918 purchasers. Has slotted my number one on the LOI for the gen 2 car when it comes out (circa 2 years away).
Makes sense to me.
What I have learnt from calling many dealers re gen 2 allocation is that there isn't a one size fits all approach to how each franchise manages their stock. The 'general' trend ive seen is that OPC's down south are operating a 'sell to known / repeat customers first' model where as midlands and up north are willing to run first come first served.
I would say advice from one dealer does not run true across the network. If you want a car you'll have to put the leg work in and be as creative as possible...

How about Scotland in September with Petrolhead Tours? We liked Scotland!
These June 2016 build cars then; are they over and above the Worldwide 2000 that we were told originally? In which case what was the original total for the UK and more to the point what will the final total be? I'll wager that the speculators are going into panic mode. I guess nobody will know the actual figures.
Seems there has been an additional allocation to the UK. The OPC I deal with is getting 3-4 more (of course they are all spoken for). Not too sure why anyone is that surprised but it's great news for those that have waited for a car and are now getting one. Porsche can't satisfy the demand overnight and only have finite capacity, as does their supply chain. I'm also pretty sure OPCs don't want to take orders for cars that will deliver in 12 months plus from now. End result is they will release them as capacity becomes available, so this probably isn't the last lot we will see (as long as the demand is there). No doubt someone will be along in a minute to say they are stopping production in x months. But there was lots of talk on here in the early summer that all RS would be done by the summer shutdown etc etc. And now here we are with cars coming through for June 2016 build. As above. Just like the GT3, who hasn't got one that wants one today? (aside of the obvious affordability issue). £330k for an RS anyone?
