Having decided to have the whole of my RS covered in Suntek 2 and Excel to reduce the effect of being shot blasted by stone chips there remains 2 other vulnerable areas; namely the radiators at the front. The grills on the GT3 were not a problem as they are easily resprayed. It is the radiators themselves; the fins on mine were bashed and folded in. I appreciate that there is little that can be done so as not to restrict air flow though there must be something? I guess the answer is replacement. Probably means I have answered my own question !
I spent the morning going around Goodwood on the track. Weather was fine but track was damp and cold. Grip was all right but not great. It was a "low noise" day at 98db so i expected to be black flagged rather soon into the morning but short shifting and being a bit gentle on the throttle made it manageable not to break the sound barrier. So all in all a good experience and a learning that you can take your 991 GT3 RS on a 98db day and still have some fun.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Am i one happy chappie??? you bet!!!! She's in my garage at last and paid for LOL.... Came a month early so my friendly OPC kept it safe till i got the funds together and must say to see it today after the 1 month wait all prepped and gleaming in the showroom what a sight, some awesome looking RS, looks so mean and purposeful to say the least! Incredible how Porsche manage to design cars that look, drive, handle better as the years go by, like how do they better this one? but they will thats a cert, makes my 997 gen 1 look about 10/12 years old nevermind 8!!!Been a nasty rainy day here so the drive back home was taken steady but nice to know the car has the usual RS noises from the rear like the engine clattering and whining that is all RS as we all know and is part of the package, the electric steering to me is perfect for feel ect and can't fault it,as it was only a 15 mile drive back home i am itching to drive the car again in the next few days to expore it more when its not throwing it down with rain....
Must say the front wheels have quite an offset when viewing the car directly from the rear and as the appalling weather today has proven quite alot of road debri is thrown up onto the rear arches and although the clear arch protectors factory fitted will help i'm sure quite afew stones etc on a car driven hard will miss these and chip the rear archs so yes a film protector covering the whole rear haunches could be a wise thing to do...
Thats it for now guys, have to go back in the garage and just drool over this pease of German engineering....has it been a good day? you bet!!
