Glenn , to answer your question, I'm open minded. I expect it will be good, very good, but am worried that Porsche will produce it in larger number than heretofore. Having PDK would not be an issue for me if the rest of the car was ok. Also, if Porsche pulls the piss with the pricing I'd vote no.
Ahhh, so you're open minded.... Carl_Docklands said:

So took the decision today...and converted my 991 GT3 build slot into the RS waiting game....
The wait for my 991 GT3 is killing me, so I doubt I'll convert my deposit to an RS, but if they'll take another deposit I might try. Will dealerships take RS deposits now?
"Preuninger says that the new GT3’s increased usability as a daily driver and its more rounded abilities opens up the possibility for the RS model to be even more extreme: ‘We’ve opened up a wider field of usability with the new GT3, so maybe that gives us more reason to push the RS towards a more extreme side. The differentiations between the two models has always been increasing, and it’s going to be like that in the future.’"
Cant wait personally. Very interested to see how it turns out.

Its probably wise to ignore mostly anything Andreas says tbh. He has a product to sell and is paid to do so.
Ive never been so over any car as I have been this new GT3 and its not even in the wild yet. I also have almost zero interest in the RS and both are sad statements to make. What little interest is left is purely in a voyeuristic capacity. I cant help but watch but it doesnt extend any further than that.
Ultimately all that matters is that those who end up with a car are happy with it. That fundamental is really the bottom line and everything else is fluff though ofcourse everyone has an opinion.
My own view is that theres no real substance to these new cars. Its just numbers, marketing and an increasing amount of undigestible BS. Theres plenty of other cars out there though that offer an alternative experience and allow to me to retain a porsche in the garage so no anxiety or hate here thats for sure.
BTW, 500HP for the RS apparently, autumn 2014 and a rather nice price jump. No 9A1 type engine in a race car before 2015 though at the earliest (and then likely only cups if it makes an appearance). Most likely an entirely new engine for the RSR etc altogether once the final rules are in place for the unified GT class regs kicking in in 2016. 8 cyl FTW!!!!!!

Does anyone have a deposit with an OPC for the 991 GT3 RS? I thought OPC's where only allowed to take deposits when Porsche official announce the car, and I guess this might not happen until Geneva motor show?
Second question, who has a Letter of Intent?
I should have an early car. Prob the 1ST... The spec is 515Bhp no rear wheel steer and a faster PDK box. Plus the usual exhaust ect, turbo body with 993 GT2 style archesSecond question, who has a Letter of Intent?

Cool! Looking forward to hearing more about the car. Pure conjecture of course:Looking at the 991 TT yesterday in our OPC, the side intakes look disproportionately small. So I hope the side intakes our a feature, and slightly larger than the TT.

Why would they put side intakes on a GT3, are you thinking GT2?
Just remembering the spy shots and videos of a wide body naturally aspirated engine testing at the Ring earlier this year. I am assuming this was for GT3 RS testing, and maybe it was a just Porsche rouse to keep the side-intakes and it is probably cheaper to test GT3 RS components with a turbo body. Or... The air intake is a new feature of the 991 GT3 RS for engine cooling.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
