220K for the RS? and why should anyone buy it over the 458Speciale? i just can't see it...
this will make me stay on the list for the 458PS and get off the RS list if true.

respectfully, don't think this will be a problem, after the 918 customer's have taken up there options...don't see many left....this will make me stay on the list for the 458PS and get off the RS list if true.

i gave 20K deposit for either the 458 successor or the speciale. if i decide for neither of the two i can get the money back until
two weeks after the presentation of the 458 successor (geneve 2015 it seems). you see, ferrari (at least in austria) has become much
more accommodating.

on the RS, if you throw in the alloys the Light Pk, and lift that's 50k..I have a 458SP, Sep build, I would take that its the last of the screemers.....the new one will have a lot of BHP, but it will sound crap....imvi gave 20K deposit for either the 458 successor or the speciale. if i decide for neither of the two i can get the money back until

yes, the next 458 will be biturbo, unfortunately. they report 670HP, but it will sound like the 650 macci. p

Can't see this myself as the usual performance boost the RS provides are incremental over the standard GT3. unless they are using carbon fibre body panels or some sort of exotica.
how about magnesium, forged carbon....for a start....I take it you are aware of the cost of the 918 style alloy, that is reputed be an option...Standard carbon will be no good on this one, by the time you put the Gel coat on to paint it will weight more than the ali parts, wings ect...
As you say not much more in Bhp, 30-40, but more important a lot more torque, weight and aero are the big areas on this one, hence the high cost of materials, forged carbon mix is so cool....but very expensive...fyi the 918 has it.

I don't agree. Why would they do that? Are people going to pay 120k more over a gt3. There has never been such a big price difference on other models.

The pricing I have seen on this side of the pond does not correspond with this. Maybe its different. A bit steeper premium to the 991 GT3 but definitely not into the exotic territory. We shall see. So far everything I heard has been pretty accurate.
One has to assume the £220k quoted includes some of the truly pricey 918 options like liquid metal paint (€50k) and mag wheels (€26k) as apolo1 did mention liquid metal paint previously i think. Past history would suggest something around the turbo s so ~£140-150k base is what I would be expecting for the 991 RS. We'll see soon enough anyway if rumours are correct about Paris being the launch.isaldiri said:

At £220+ the premiums touted, you would not see many RS's at track days, people talking up prices/premiums.BMCG said:
This is looking very fine indeed. Hurry up Porsche in launching this long delayed car and rebuild credibility after the GT3 debacle.Somebody filmed it on the Nordschleife yesterday:

There are plenty of differences when you compare the car in the video to the patent drawings.

So there it is. An ugly version of the GT3. I could not drive that and be seen in public.
As a track tool however, I expect it to be superb.
I have concluded that I was born with an ugly stick, because I quite like it. ( Of course, I had similar discussions when I had an E 63 M6 and a 997.2 RS. Assuming its decal-free my guess is most ordinary people will see just another Porsche with a big wing. A surprising number of people see little difference between a 964 and a 991.As a track tool however, I expect it to be superb.
