So there it is. An ugly version of the GT3. I could not drive that and be seen in public.
As a track tool however, I expect it to be superb.
I agree. And why there are 2 GT3 versions for the 2 market segments, but overlap inevitable - the boggo 991 GT3 straddling that middle ground better. As a track tool however, I expect it to be superb.

I have to agree, I have seen the white one, it has a lot "going on" as you say it will be an epic track tool, but then so is he GT3?....As a track tool however, I expect it to be superb.
Cars sounds epic and wing is probably even bigger than the 7.2 RS. I have gotten used to mine.
Thing is, can the 991 RS beat the time attack Nismo GTR on a N time? Otherwise, what's the point?
Again, i think the P badge is great, but cars with big wings and appendages are inherently ugly anyway, I normally shy away from such GTR discussions but my guess is we are heading for such a showdown.

from what I understand the upcoming 675GT3? road car will rewrite the ring times, in this jnr sector...Thing is, can the 991 RS beat the time attack Nismo GTR on a N time? Otherwise, what's the point?

This car won't get anywhere near the GT-R's time. There could be a 15 second per lap gap between the cars.Thing is, can the 991 RS beat the time attack Nismo GTR on a N time? Otherwise, what's the point?

The 2008 time for the GT-R was 7 minutes 26 seconds, it is now 7 mins 8 seconds for the 2014 Nismo. Nissan can find a further 5 seconds for sure, it depends how far they want to go in terms of cost of weight saving and if this weight saving actually makes the car slower by compromising grip, there is only so far they can go with the fixed rear wing before it becomes illegal on a road car.

After asking to be put on list I was told the allocation has already been taken. All 918 owners are given first choice of owning one and apparently they've all been grabbed;0(
That's correct, there will be about a few in free play, but they will go to the VIP list.....Edited by APOLO1 on Sunday 3rd August 18:27

Tough to see how the 991 RS will be able to get below 7:08 surely, even from Porsche official numbers. 7:25 was the factory gt3 time and even allowing for the 991 RS supposedly being much more extreme, the usual laptime delta between the RS and standard gt3 has been a lot less than the 18 seconds required to get under the Nismo's time.Thing is, can the 991 RS beat the time attack Nismo GTR on a N time? Otherwise, what's the point?
