No chance at all, I'm third on my OPC's list, they took my deposit of 10 K Jan 2014 and they will only get one, I'd say all are spoken for. Nothing to do with deposits or letters of intent. The number of cars will be very small. But like everyone else on here I would love to be proved wrong !
I have no real idea of how it will go here. Am apparently top of the list, but no idea how the whole 918 buyers' ability to jump the line will play out. There are quite a few 918s coming to Canada so its anybody's guess.Drumbeat for a GT3 RS Paris Motor Show release is picking up tempo:

Not that you'll be able to buy it of course unless you're a VIP http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/porsche-911-...

So are you saying if you're a 918 buyer you can automatically buy an RS at will now, even if you hadn't expressed an RS interest initially ??
Maybe only if you already have a 918 and 997.2 Turbo 918 Edition in your garage. I’m not in a position to buy any of these cars but it is interesting to watch from the sidelines, what Porsche is doing here seems very Ferrari-esque.

918 owners get first choiceI've had an LOI on one for some time and I'll be putting a deposit down but don't hold out much hope of taking delivery
I'd imagine not every 918 buyer would normally buy a new RS as well, however if there was potentially money to be made then that's a different story.
Question is though, would Porsche not take a dim view of 918 buyers snapping up the new RS, only to sell it on at a profit, would they be obliged to keep it for a length of time even ??

I believe that is the case. 918 owners get first call on any new models ahead of anyone else (presumably ordered by where they are on the list of 918 orders...)Doubtless this has been done before, but would be grateful some info based on experience.
Track precision app/sport chrono.?
I do track periodically, maybe five or six times a season, no more than that.
I have a preliminary spec with my dealer on the RS, (fairly sure i will get it),based on the existing GT3 spec. I travel a lot, so if the car is announced in my absence they will trigger the order based on the spec, amending it for any items that have become standard on the RS.. Typically there are no important performance options on an RS anyway.
The track precision stuff seems relatively expensive for what it is, but for those who have tried it, I am wondering if its worth it from a practical viewpoint. I have used the sport chrono now and then on my other RSs, but they have jacked up the price a lot. You can make a case that its nothing compared to overall price, but still want to get value.

I dare say you've already thought about it or discussed it with "you know who" already, but you've possibly got a slightly better chance of getting an RS than others...
