I don't get why some people are so averse to a big wing on an RS, it's function over form. End of!

It's meant to be as close to a race car as possible, whilst still being driveable on the road...

The 7.2RS was so good at what it was built for, Walter Rohl said it was good enough to race! So, Porsche took him at his word and entered one in the Nurburgring 24hr.

It was driven from the production line, sans 19s and ceramics due to the regs.

It came 13th out of 200!

Then driven back where it now resides in the museum, flies n all!

I'm glad we're all different, but I for one think it's brilliant!
Fair point re race car closeness smile

off topic, I know, but last time I checked a few days ago there were only 3 996 RS listed on mobile.de - at about 230k, 280k and 390k from memory ... when I checked about 9 months ago there were quite a few at <100k and a few in the low to mid 100s. Wonder if the 991 RS will ultimately have a similar trajectory

neigh neigh and thrice neigh !

It's not just the wing mate, the wing is just as awful as the .2 RS. One of the posters here slapped up an image of a .1 RS, there is a reason for that, its the last good looking RS Porsche made.

When you slap an ugly wing onto an already ugly car, the result can be spectacularly awful.

They have added some really nice touches to the new RS but they did not have the best base to work with in the Turbo bodyshell.

I would use an analogy about an ugly woman who is great in bed but while nodding their heads in respectful approval, nobody really wants a go however, I consider myself too intellectual for such quotes.

458 Speciale vs 991 RS? The emotional result is a forgone conclusion before Monkey drops foot onto the hollowed asphalt of Anglesey in his novelty hoodie.
