This is my running in plan. Delivery 5th Jan 2016, figures are in kms. Right up until I reach the magic figure of 3000kms I'll be varying the load. changing gear where possible manually, longer journeys ( none less than 25 kms ), no city driving and avoiding motorway where possible. Always making sure to drive off straight away as I hear the car runs rich from the off so I want to minimise that.

0- 1000 kms 4000 rpm
2000-3000kms 5000 rpm

The some short runs up to 7000 Rpm and finally 8800 rpm.

Oil and Filtre Change at one year old which should be 10,000 kms for me.

I'm booked on the RS Owners day at Oulton on Friday 11th March where I hope to open her up ! And Evo next day

Trip to Nurburgring in May, mostly about the drive out and back.

152, that's what mine came to as well. PCCBs and lift and PSM made a big chunk on the extras.

Somewhere in a thread years ago I asked about the feasability of doing this , your own PTS done by a quality painter as here but you all said no it would devalue my car. Seems I was right after all, IMHO it would be a very good ay to get you very own PTS. I'd love to have my 991 RS in Rubystone Red.

What do you mean " run in on the test bed " ? Do Porsche run every engine and for how long and how ? I thought it was only a very small 100 % nowadays that got hot tested and none are run in. I think the test now is just putting compressed air into it and seeing what the % leaks are. Maybe I'm wrong and since the trouble with GT3 engines all engines are both run in and tested hot.

Woppum, that is a lovely car, stunning ! Well wear.

Yes but that the standard 991 Engine, I think the GT3 and RS engines are different.

This colour and painting decision is perhaps the ballsiest decision ever made on a colour on PH, and he got it right ! It's one of them colours that might flash by or through your mind but Woppum has grabbed it and succeeded.

Woppum, this is the colour of the Porsche Museum 959 on display at the Old Timer Grandprix last summer. It looks very like your colour and design, have you seen it before, did it influence you ?

QROPS said:
Woppum would you have any pictures in a decent size, I would very much like one for my desktop and need a large size to spread across two screens.
Be careful what you ask for, I got modded here for posting a picture of a Dodge Charger with a Bikini Lady, who knows what a Whoppum picture would get you !

Not only does it sound great but I think hte main part of the exhaust is made by Akkroprovik anyway and there would not be a great weight saving changing the box only. However, I think that at tickover my 991 RS sounds quieter than my 997 RS .2 did.

There's a lot of crazing on my PCCB discs, I've done exactly as advised by doing a cool down lap, and I've never used them hard, is this normal or bad ?

Wow, thanks, glad to hear that. Here's my photo today at 3030 kms and at the Circuit of Ireland Deja Vu today where I met up with a very famous RS

Lovely colour Glen, wear well. My 991 RS is LO, I was in two minds whether to spec Green again ( I owned " The HulK", the only UK Green 7.2 RS, and only one of two RHD ones in the World ). I was too slow deciding and the PTS window closed.

You will be stunned with the performance and comfort and the 991 is a big improvement over the 997 in every respect, says he after 3030 kms appeared today.

Some thoughts on the photo.

" It rolled down a ramp " that implies it was driverless, yet there is no apparent incline in the photos.

I've found on first start up the 991 RS lurches, in my drive in the morning it goes nowhere on the first press of the accelerator and a firmer second press can make it lurch forward ( or back ) up to two metres. I suspect this is what happened and that it had a driver.

Looking again at the photos , IMHO there will be significant under body damage, at least it will have broken and esposed the underbody sealent pretection.

And they 're right , while the owner may be financially compensated, he won't get a peplacement car as there are none.

Surely that's Porsche Green, not Viper ?
