Numbers I got were over 5 each at two different "Northern" dealerships. That makes to 60 total seem a bit on the low side to me.
The 2 dealerships I've had LOI with have 4 allocations each, 3 of which will go to the 918 Spyder customers.. so 1 car per dealer available.. but not to me. Both dealers have around 20 LOI and have (apologetically) made it clear that the dealership manager will sit down and give the allocation to their best, and most local, customer.. chaps that are buying a new 911 every couple of years. The timing of the LOI is largely irrelevant.
Sad though I am, I think it makes sense and congratulations to those that have them.
Just tried an OPC in the north of england and was essentially told 'not now, and not ever' in terms of buying a new GT-car. They have too many 'relationships' to massage to give sales to others.
Never mind, I knew that'd be the case going in... it was more the 'not ever' part that pee'd me off.

So number of 918 customers/cars plus 28?
I had some information last night from 2 separate dealers that they were getting more RS's than they are getting GT4's. Very strange.
To burst the RHD 991 GT3 bubble I had some information last night from 2 separate dealers that they were getting more RS's than they are getting GT4's. Very strange.
Here's my 2p on the launch:
1. There was way too much leaked info to make the launch interesting. We even saw a scale model several months ago, which is identical to the production car. I didn't feel that excited about it initially but watching the 11 min video is awesome - starts to make it feel like a more emotional purchase, which I guess is the purpose of that video. In fact, they're released a lot of great content very quickly for those genuinely interested in the car.
2. At £131k, it again offers great value. I haven't priced this exactly but I can see buckets and carbon trim, which were c.£5k in the GT3 being, being included. So really, it's £126k. Then add to that a totally different engine, more power, loads of carbon, magnesium and I think this is another performance bargain. Expect the second hand market to go through the roof with this. I don't expect GT3 prices to come down, I expect RS prices to be trading above.
3. Personally, I think the styling is great - it's clearly differentiated as an RS without looking ridiculous. The more you look at it, the more you appreciate the subtle changes to the GT3.
4. If they don't do PTS, I'll be pissed off - the standard colours aren't loud enough.
...in the same boat as most of you...3rd on the list at my OPC and just hope my deposit secures a car.

Every time I log in to catch up on this thread you (Mermaid) are trying to talk down the GT3 and the values - why? It's all you ever talk about.

Dont FEED the troll!!!You missed the smiley.
RHD prices are higher than most people imagine, owners/traders/speculators will want these prices to be talked up even more - plenty of threads doing just that. That's to be expected. This is a forum.
& I have driven the 991 GT3 and have said many times that it is a masterpiece of engineering. And that list was lower by about £15k. Is it worth £130k? yes, in my opinion.
Is it worth £180k or £200k - I do not think so, but the market will determine that. We all know the car is selling for just over half that in other markets.
Peace.

+1 Similar story from significant London OPC....5 GT4 ...5 GT3 RS Go figure....
10 at one UK OPC? Ok impressive, was told flat out no chance at Reading. LHD ones not anything like that difficult so that's where I'll get one as I just want one to drive it rather than obsess about RHD values....
Still remain slightly unconvinced of the 991 generation of gt3 but to be fair I reckon I'll give it a shot to see how it goes. Will be an interesting comparison vs the older cars and other modern highly electronic cars.

I'll be honest I am stunned at the list price. Bargain! I just think we are going to see more and more LHD cars in the UK. You can already see it at some of the big dealers like DK, JZM etc quite regularly stock LHD cars. LHD cars at a 70% premium to RHD ? As a % premium that is mental!

Interview with Andres Preuninger is pretty informative…not sure if posted previously.

It sounds the same as the GT3, I thought they would stick as much of a cup style exhaust that they could get away with, to go with the RS image.
Which would then exceed the noise limit on most of the tracks where this car is designed to be driven?Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
