In real terms the options of lift, air con and sound/bluetooth are not going make any difference to your lap times/experience but will make a massive difference when you are on the road.

I know it won't but it just feels daft to get an RS in "comfort" spec, and I won't use it that much on the road anyway.

Its102 drive by,so 106 static should be fine.
I was 106db drive by at oulton.

The static is not relevant because the 991 gt3 wont rev over 4k rpm in neutral so you always pass the static.

Seems you can get a build slot in Europe for a LHD drive car and with the Euro at 1.39, is more or less the same price as a UK one. Seems to me that a car like this shouldn't suffer much for being LHD as its basically a track car. I think a few drivers even prefer it.......

Hi all, I just hot-footed it to my local opc in Dubai. The situation here is different. They are still collecting deposits and will know their allocation in 3 weeks. Let's see what happens. I told them I want a colour to sample and they told me to be ready to let them know this by the time my order will hopefully be confirmed. Thinking Mexico blue or Viper green (or whatever they called the green on the 997.1 rs)

Keeping my fingers crossed...

Congrats Andrew. I'm in the middle of speccing mine. What advantages do LEDs offer over PDLS bi-xenons? Also, any thoughts on Lithium battery? I'm struggling with these two.

I've gone orange too. PTS appeals, but not the extra wait.

Nice.
Just wondering if you have any experience of the LED lights, and if you considered the lightweight battery option at all ??

The dealers showed me some led lights on a turbo s. They produce a much brighter more natural illumination, and have DRL in 4 slots around the outside of the light which looks distinctive. I liked them.

Didn't go for lightweight battery, seems a lot and I'm not a fan of these, even on trickle they seem prone to going flat ime

Must admit I've been looking at Ultraviolet, but there seems to be few anomalies on the configurator. Wheels appear silver as standard but get darker when you spec the silver option, then the wing uprights appear silver instead of black on the orange car, will need to get this clarified first I think.

Mint Green would suit it too IMO...would be pretty unique in the UK

SNAP..! Just that I've chosen satin platinum wheels, and orange cage.

Will also switch to PTS if they confirm availability, but its not looking likely.

As 991 GT3 RS is based on gen 1 991, and production is switching to gen 2 991 over August shutdown, wont all 991 RS be produced this side of the shutdown..?

Yes. I had full LED lights on my 991 GT3, and compared to the standard xenons I had on my previous 991, they were a huge improvement. They give a much whiter brighter light, with what seems like a longer projection of the beam, and greater long range definition. I will be chosing them next time.

We had lithium batteries on rally cars and race cars we run, and they're a pain to keep on trickle charge, and have a habit of draining and not always holding full charge. I'm sure the Porsche LI battery is a better deisgn, but cant see the advantage...
