How did you get on? Very nice lad offered me his afternoon slot as he needed to leave early. Tried to do things "the right way" and went to control to pay to be added as an extra driver. Was told bluntly "it doesn't work like that". Offered to pay admin fee or preferably charitable donation but basically got told to do one! Everyone's a loser...
Dreadful, hardly encourages people to do things properly when it becomes a case of only being able to get on track at all by swapping wristbands (meaning the driver's not signed a disclaimer, had their licence checked nor attended a briefing).

That sort of thing needs agreeing in advance with whoever runs the event next year, whether that be MSVT again, or Bookatrack or Circuitdays, Javelin, whoever. They need a more lively driver's briefing too ;-)

Besides that, it was a great day with sunny weather in the morning, cold, windy but completely dry all afternoon. No offs (well, nothing causing damage or a stoppage, but I did see some dirt & gravel at Druids that had been dragged on by someone who'd clearly, err, had a moment eek ) and only one red flag....not caused by a Porsche rolleyes Driving standards were good too from what I saw. There were lots of nice cars in the paddock and it was nice to catch up with people...and re-acquaint myself with Boxsey's wife's fabulous baking (why he's not immensely overweight is a miracle). smile

great day, took me until 2.30pm to get on track. the organiser was very unaccommodating but i think my persistence eventually paid off.

Thanks Marcus - would have said cheerio but you must have been out when we headed off.

Seemed very silly to me - as you say, a cheeky wristband swap and nobody would have noticed or cared, rock up with your driving licence and computer says no...

What you were both there aswell? Damn I thought I was the only Porsche owner that turned up who was only actually there to spectate. Pink carnations next year.

Great day, really enjoyed it, never been to Oulton before (I don't think) and I thought it a fab looking track and good amenities, beautiful weather helped as well mind, smile

I am surprised with what you say. I took someone's place who had mechanical issues. Took his sticker and went to see the track Manager, paid £25, signed a disclaimer, went to race control for a briefing and got out on track for the last hour and a half.

Great day, thanks to Marcus for all his assistance helping my ham fisted driving style to hustle around Oulton

Got a few pictures, how do you upload several onto 1 post?

OK, heres some of my faves of the day. Its a cheap camera I'm afraid....

Sweeping up is exhausting....

Those pesky old 964's give the newer stuff a right old fright!

993 GT2...lush...and the 3.8 is not bad either!

Yes, I checked and its a real RUF RGT based on a 996GT3.2

Cup car

A lovely thing...

Another Cup car!

1 of only 3 genuine NGT's in the UK.

I dont know much about this, but it looks like a 3.8RS race car

Not a bad garage....

Some nice genunine old stuff and backdates in attendance. The yellow 2.4S was lovely.

A few of mine. Bogged down with Uni work at the moment so I only stayed for a couple of hours. No on-track photos unfortunately.

You very nearly got it 100 percent correct I'm impressed. it is a Real RUF RGT but based on a 996 GT3 Mk1.

Cheers Al

Hi

I could swear it had mark 2 headlights on it? Unless I am going mad?

Nice pics. I agree about the name badges! I would've said hello to a few people if I knew who they were!
