Ya big puff!
Seriously though, what a shame not to take such a great driver's car on such a fantastic, rewarding circuit that's perfectly suited to your car.
Why not book a day's instruction? Learn the track and smooth techniques steadily at your own pace, with someone that know the place well and should keep you, and the car, safe. Now, I wonder who that could be?
Thanks for the offer Marcus, but my desire to drive on track waned some time ago.Seriously though, what a shame not to take such a great driver's car on such a fantastic, rewarding circuit that's perfectly suited to your car.

If its pissing down like last year I shall be attending in a not-so-lightweight derv Alpina....
Besides, I can just see it now - all the regulars posting on here about some fat hairdresser pootling round holding them up.

Booked, 2 cars. 991GT3 and Porsche Cayman race car, standard engine but on slicks, which will be quicker. Interesting to find out.
What's the spec on the Cayman? If it's a stock car but just on slicks, then the GT3 will be significantly quicker. http://www.tsl-timing.com/mgcc/2013/133653pcb.pdf

For comparison, the PCGB championship boxsters on slicks were lapping around 1'52 when they visited OP this year.

Very interesting. What do they have to work with on suspension and weight? http://www.tsl-timing.com/mgcc/2013/133653pcb.pdf

the GT3 should too IMHO. My 7.2 RS does and did at Oulton last year.
By all accounts from the media the new car is supposedly a step up in noise and the higher red line means more RPM for the static and indeed likely the drivebys too. It has been an open question since it was announced and it is almost suspicious the extent to which nobody wants to talk about it. The question is of course only as to whether extra external silencing like the db killers that X-pipe users usually have to run will be required - it certainly isn't game over if she is a touch too vocal. jackwood said:

I can't believe they salted the track!!!
They seem to do this at MSV circuits - I guess it comes down to economics......... Clearly they would rather salt the track and be able to run the trackday than have to cancel and give refunds / raincheques. I experienced this at Brands last year - the wet salt sludge was the slipperiest thing I've ever driven on, and the car was absolutely disgustingly filthy by the end of the day. Had to have the engine bay steam cleaned to get all the salt and grot out of it (Clio race car)

Still can't believe that -doubt my Cup has ever seen salt!!
In Spa last March we did convoy runs behind a pace car weaving across the track to clear the light snow..... the 3" the next day remained though and we retired to the bar!!
... And the following weekend they had the salt spreader out along with every available member of the circuit staff in their road cars following the salt truck for about an hour. The circuit was then declared driveable but it really wasn't until it had completely dried out & the top layer of salt cleared from the line, which was about mid-way through the following day!In Spa last March we did convoy runs behind a pace car weaving across the track to clear the light snow..... the 3" the next day remained though and we retired to the bar!!
