Means you still have a st system lol
Mine is on v2.2 also :-(
yes your cayman R which is a 2012 model year!Mine is on v2.2 also :-(
it might be sh*t but it doesn't matter to me as I don't use it but pcm allows me other functions and if I wanted sat nav I would use a tablet/smart phone which upgrades automatically
Can't help think that Porsche should have done it right first time. BMW still a long way ahead of Porsche on this. Of course, the oily bits on the Porsche are are superior to BMs, but it is kinda irritating that a brand so on target in most areas can miss for so long on infotainment technology. The bizarre nav update procedure on older systems shows how heath robinson things have been.
But gradually getting there. The system on the 918 looked very nice, so hopefully that will be trickling down the range soon.

Your local
OPC just don't like doing it as it makes no money and takes up a bay for 4 hours.
Mine took full day, 10 til 6. I didn't realise but every time you put your pork in to OPC they give it a PCM update so OPC serviced cars will be fairly up to date, mine hasn't been near the OPC since new so it needed a lot of updates from beginning of 2009 before they could load up the good stuff. Funny thing is all those updates over the years must do fk all since mine has not glitched at all over the last 5 years, must be like some of those iphone updates which never seem to do owt.OPC just don't like doing it as it makes no money and takes up a bay for 4 hours.
they don't update the nav on a service.
they have to buy a license code for porsche nav update.
no one has full post code search unless you paid £500 before or have a very very new car as even the 991 did not have it.

it's a loss leader at £150 for Porsche, hence the OPC not liking it, but imo worth doing now as it will go back up to silly money again.

They will on a Gen2 Turbo to take it to v2.23 as I was told there is a recall. I had mine done at Tonbridge FOC when it went in to have it's brake pads cleaned.they have to buy a license code for porsche nav update.

.
I was told they do although it is not a noticeable update (doesn't change any functions) but it is a software glitch update which apparently Porsche sends to OPCs from time to time. It makes sense that the PCM 3 in a 2011 997.2 is going to have some updated software/firmware gubbins compared to an early 2009 997. .
Maybe they are talking bks and it is only when the new postcode update is being purchased that they have to update older cars as they need later PCM 3 versions in place to be able to sync and load the postcode one - actually you are right this sounds more like it.
