Ideally as many colours as possible, triple grey, magenta etc & some close ups of stitching would be fantastic if you have some tucked up in the garage smile

Also interested in the differences between 964/993 if you can point me in the right direction

Here's your starter for 10 :

And some bloke called Cragswinter asking questions about seats on here previously hehe

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=921...

P.S Dave at Southbound stated that the double stitching makes the seats look far nicer than the single stitches Recaro supply on the Pole Position.

That's old age for you biggrin

Yep, all the RS seats are double stitched.

Another set of beautifully stitched Pole Positions

RS double stitching :

And a pair of Recaro SPG's a mate had trimmed for his 964 RS :

Only this one, but I can find out if my mate took other photos, or failing that who he sold them to.

Bit of a thread revival, but is anyone interested in swapping some Recaro SPGs (mint unused) for some Recaro Pole Positions?

Not that it'll affect you, but the Pole Positions are no longer FIA approved.

I have an SPG at home (as you do - it was once in my old BMW track car) and always assumed the PP ws quite similar. How different are they?

Yeah I saw that last month, I did get in touch with Capitol Seating and it's a pretty simple fix-register with Recaro and they'll send you the updated bracket thumbup

They're quite different seen side by side, the SPGs have the ribbing (like the Porsche seats) on the shell back for strength, have the higher bits around your kidneys and most importantly have the shoulder strap holes higher up-if you're above a certain height the pole position strap holes are so low down they risk compressing you into the seat in an accident.

Think of the Pole Position as a bit of a fashion accessory compared to the SPGs function!

PPs I find just as comfortable so I'm ok with them and I'm not planning on using them with harnesses so the shoulder straps don't matter for me smile

Any particular reason for seat research OP?
Are you thinking of buying a 911?

As with most things I guess Henry, one size doesn't fit all smile how do you get on with the harness slots in the Porsche PPs? I know it's not an usury on the newer ones but in your RS are they ok?

Ade, appreciate it if you kept an ear out thumbup ideally I'm after leather but as I'll likely recover them I'd look at anything

They suited me fine in the RS that had a half cage and harnesses. I'm nearly 6ft (5ft 11 and a bit), but I've got stumpy legs and a long torso silly I sit pretty close to the (Cup) wheel in an RS and upright too, so the harness slots were pretty much perfect for me smile Likewise the 996 GT3 seats are perfect too (but they shoud be as Ade says their based on the PP's)

I'd be willing to swap my cloth PP's for SPG's.
