OPC Courtesy Cars

Yeh, Bolton use Mercs but I had a Boxster off them after a little pressure.
Its all down to the business case I guess. Whats the cost vs the potential return.
My car was there recently for mot and 111 point check. Was loaned an 1800 mile old 991 Carrera s. And very nice it was, too! A few months ago Mrs FarQue dropped the car off for a suspension link to be fitted and came away with a 981s. When the 997 had a service last summer I was loaned a Mercedes of some description. I've used both Tonbridge and Mid-Sussex for servicing and warranty work and have only been given Porsche courtesy cars:
911 997
911 991
Boxster
Cayenne
Cayman R
Panamera
I do try and arrange an appointment well in advance to ensure a car is available.

WHatever courtesy car you get here (Swiss/German border), you have to pay for the privelege.
I've usually had Boxsters from the German OPC, but they do have Audi A1s I think. You could also have a Cayenne or Panamera, poss also a 911, but you pay even more for these.
Never had a courtesy car from my local OPC- just free tram tickets as they are right next to the tramstop and it's far easier to take public transport.
COuld be worse though- recently had our RRS serviced, got given a brand new Kia Piccanto with horrible slushbox auto. I did not know they still made cars this awful. And we had to pay for it too!
I do think that the way courtesy cars work in Britain (generally speaking) is good- i.e. loan you something to tempt you into your next purchase- buyt I guess too many people take the piss these days so it won't be long before everyone has to pay to drive a crappy loan car.

Recently I've had Porsches (Panamera Diesel & 991 C4S) however in the past I've had a couple of BMW's as OPC Bristol is run by Dick Lovett who have the BMW/MINI franchise next door.
These days I try and book far enough in advance, so I can specifically ask for a Porsche. Never any guarantee but they normally try and accommodate.

OPC Reading asked me which one I wanted out of a choice of 911, Cayenne or Boxster.
I initially booked the Boxster but then circumstances changed and I needed the car back ASAP. They didnt have a courtesy car available for me but they could service the car the next day as they had a cancelled booking.
I just dropped the car off and collected it the day after.
Must say it was very good of them to service the car at such short notice and they didnt try and sell me anything extra either (which is always a bonus)

OPC West ByFleet have Ford Fiesta's as their courtesy cars.
Suffice to say I was gutted when I took my 997 in for a major service.
The Fiesta is a fun car, but not what I was expecting to receive, had been hoping for a new Cayman or Boxster.
I had the same when I used West Byfleet. But, they made this clear whilst making the booking plus the fact I paid much less than the other local OPC were quoting more than compensated.Suffice to say I was gutted when I took my 997 in for a major service.

are people actually complaining about the courtesy (know what the word means?) car not being a porsche? wow.
Especially when many wouldn't have bought their car brand new from the dealer.Any car will do me, obviously the better car the better. My OPC is a Volvo dealer too, so I have been driving a S60 1.6 litre turbo. It is new though.
