OK then chaps what are you racing this year and in what? are you looking forward to the season? are you ready and please post loads of pictures 
Here is my steed as she appeared at Sunday's Sunseeker pre-season boat show, all stickered up for the new Dunlop Production Cup for Porsche.
Hopefully with the regulations in place and attitude of those organising this series with regards to driving standards the car will stay looking good this year.

Never been as excited about a season as I am this year, testing at Snett next Thursday then apply the race numbers and do a couple of small jobs and I am good to go for the first round at Snett in a few weeks time.

Car looks amazing - good luck! I shall be watching the Dunlop series with great interest this year and looking at race cars I can't afford online... Looks to be a well put together programme (with bonus of Spa!) and decent rules and regs to keep costs down. Very jealous!

my old 928 in the future classics, nearly re-shelled now. usually at a few tracks i want to do, instead of going here there and everywhere when i dont want to. booked in for silverstone in may then spa in june for starters!
the cayman in brscc eurosaloons, just waiting for a cwp to stop it hitting the limiter in 6th gear. even worse with the 997 turbo engine than it was with the old aircooled gt2 motor.
and what should be good fun with a customer, a funcup car inc spa 25 hour race in july. first race is in 3 weeks

I'm racing this again this year in the 1800-2500cc class of CSCC Modern Classics:

For those that think they can't afford to race, this car cost me £2500 delivered from Ireland, I reckon I'll use a max of 2 sets of tyres all year, spares are cheap (eg 30 quid for a second hand radiator) and I am sharing the car so costs are halved.
Sell the 911 and buy a 924 or 944 and race that!!!

Thanks for the comments on my car, how nice it looks is only 5% as important as doing the business behind the wheel this year. I'm treating this season as my first given that I have never done more than 3 events in any one year.

Made the decision today that next year I will be entering the Michelin Clio Road Series Cup and have this afternoon sent off for my MSA Go Racing Starter Kit. I have found this website http://www.racing-school.co.uk/driving/novice-race... which seems to give me what I need from the license perspective, what are people's opinions is this the right way??
Secondly, how much is there to learn from the DVD and how hard would you say the written exam is, I don't want to book myself in for my test next week and not have enough time to study/watch the DVD to learn what I need??

The questions are mostly multiple choice common sense stuff, just make sure you know all the flags 100% and have watched the video through a few times and you will be fine. I did mine at Castle Combe all in one morning, I don't recall anyone having a problem with the written exam but a couple may have tripped up on the driving bit.

Cheers that's what I was hoping, would you advise having a prelim session with a ARD's instructor with a view to the test or is the 10 minutes on the day enough to get you through?Its never too early or late to have some instruction in my opinion, it really can't hurt your chances and feeling more comfortable and relaxed in the car on track is definitely a good thing.
The one important bit of unqualified advice I will give is to understand its not about caning the car round the track trying to be a hero. Those few laps were probably the slowest I have done on track but I came away with only one element marked down and a comment that I was tense and needed track time to relax into it. Somewhere in there a FF cut me up into one of the chicanes but I spotted him as he dived passed in the mirror and bailed out slightly from the turn in to give him space, the instructor was impressed and I have felt ever since that he decided at that moment I was going to pass the test as for the next 5 mins he just chatted to me about random stuff. This is the nub of it as the whole point of the process both written test and practical driving is to make sure you're not a danger to yourself and others. I think that if you understand that and can drive half decently you will be fine.
