Are there any dates yet for when the 1st cars will have had new engines fitted?
Nope - rumours of firs cars back on the road by the end of May - just rumours though
If anyone hasn t yet seen the Rennteam 991 GT3 thread theres possibly a few pointers in the discussion regarding new engine production, capacity and timescales on the last few pages c171 onwards......quite interesting although the usual pinch of salt applies of course......hehe

**** UPDATE ****

We have been inundated with membership requests to join the GT3 Action Group. Since we validate each request individually, this has been a time consuming but very worthwhile exercise.

We want to clarify the criteria for membership of the Action Group. The Group is only open to GT3 stakeholders who are either owners or depositors. Furthermore, we must be able to validate you as a genuine stakeholder. A user can be validated if he/she is known to us as a stakeholder, by virtue of his/her posting history on Rennlist/Pistonheads or other forums, or a member (known to us) from either community can vouch for that user.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but discussion on the forum is private and we won't risk the initiative by allowing access to a non-stakeholder. If a user cannot be validated, he/she will not be invited to the private forum but can still join the Group and subscribe to the mailing list.

Please note that only Macca and I review the registration data and this is held in the strictest confidence. It will not be shared with any third party without the stakeholder's explicit written authority.

If you're interested in joining the Group, please PM either Macca or me and include your:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Contact number
  • Owner/Car Pending/Depositor
  • Supplying dealer
  • Cost (with and without taxes)
  • VIN (if available)
  • Supply Date (if available or expected date)
  • Registered Date ( if applicable)

Thank you for your support.

One quick question. If I have a confirmed build slot but car has not been built yet..

Is there any point for me to join the action? Just genuine curiosity. I am massively p1ssed off because it looks like I might miss the summer with the car.. And if the case will need to do something about it.. Either with Porsche or by looking elsewhere..

But I wonder if other people in my position are joining.

Ive joined just to add support but i'm in the same position as you and am not really bothered about waiting for my car. The only thing i expect is that the car is now bullet proof and the extra warranty which in theory should make the car £1000 cheaper anyway as i don't need to buy my 3rd year. Also if they want to throw in an extra Experience day i won't be complaining wink The way i see it is that i will have a factory fresh 2015 car so it will be worth the wait!

Scott,
What month of delivery guarantees you NOT having a 2014 991 GT3. Do you have to wait for a September delivery so its deemed a 2015 model.

I'm going by whats on the configurator. Its quoting 2015 car and the new options (new chrono, painted side skirts etc). I was speaking with my OPC and he said as soon as they know whats going on/my car moving on the system they will call me back in to confirm the spec to lock

Some say that all futures cars yet to be built will now be 2015. And 2015 MY could start well before the traditional sep/oct.

If that's only wishful thinking I wouldn't know...

We hope this action may just be the catalyst, to make PAG join the real world of customer satisfaction, and appreciation.Giant Multi Nationals have had to learn this, so we can live in hope.

"Reports suggest the manufacturer is paying $2,000 per month compensation to US customers, with two and three times that amount in UAE and its home market Germany respectively despite no mention of compensation to customers in the UK, as reported by the Telegraph on 23-Apr-14 (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/car-manufacturers/porsche/10782372/Disgruntled-Porsche-GT3-owners-demand-compensation.html). "

I wonder if they think UK buyers are a soft touch.

It is a good letter, and I have every sympathy for the owners who have been messed about. Be realistic, however - Porsche may or may not provide some compensation without the need to make a claim(if it feels like it, essentially), but it wont care a great deal given that it can just refund the purchase price and sell the vehicle again very easily.

Hi Sierra Mike,

I'm late to the party, but have just sent you a PM. Also wanted to publicly express my thanks to you and Macca who I'm sure have had a significant impact on the situation and helped Porsche do the right thing!

Cheers,

Anthony.
