Whatever is special about it being a 40th anniversary special sure does not show.

19K is steep in these times for what is ultimately a 996 C2 with 80k miles on the clock.

With that budget I'd be looking at turbos for just a little stretch.

I've got one and love the spec:

LSD
Sports suspension
X power kit
Larger Rads
etc etc

They have had this a little while though and its strong money...maybe worth a cheeky offer?

As long as it runs right and an inspection report is good the car will pay for itself. I'd expect a 45k miler to sit at £25k and above nowadays.
Rare decent spect, last of the line porker. Narrow 996 probably has the best rear end of any 911 (IMO). Period colour (only silver I think!)
Does the anniversary have Turbo brakes?

Cheap limited edition Porsche. Worth £10k more than a 1999 car ,prob not. But that never has any bearing on where classic car prices go. Limited numbers, good spec, looks good condition.

I would

Ditto.
Fat backside and full length rear reflector look ace.
Whatever your friend buys OP, if it's a 996/7 make sure it has PSE. It sounds great and is a must have option in my opinion.

What makes it a 'last of the line Porker" ? It's a 996, probably more of those built than any other 911 ever? The ugliest front of any 911 ever. If it had to be a 996 I'd be buying a Turbo, far superior engine (based on the GT1) compared to the 996 in any other guise. The 996 non-turbo's will never make the investment that a turbo will.

Run out anniversary model. 03 plate . 997s start on a 54 plate.

I have a 996 turbo and wouldn't swap it for anything at the moment.

The question was about that car and not should I buy a Turbo! I see the 40th anniversary model doing well in the future if it's cheap motoring your after. Nice alternate to a 4S. With investments the numbers game matters. Also lots of nice things being written in recent times how well a narrow bodied 996 handles/steers.

I like the 40 year car, but I don't think its time has come yet.
