Arghh, after a sudden thumping noise, just been told that it is the "known" issue? have found a refurb part & new bearings for £360 & it is a couple of hours labour to fit.

Does that sound about right? DIY is not an option.

thanks, when I heard new prop shaft I must admit I heart did sink. Sub £500 is not to bad.

Did you go for the refurb shaft in the end? Any issues with it?

No thumping yet, but when Northway have looked at the car they have told me that whilst the bearing has been changed recently, there is a line of grease that has come from the UJ boot, thus it will have worn.

I've found a supplier that offers a 2 year warranty on the part (the same as porsche do) so I'm planning to DIY it myself.
