991 GT3 . Best Performance car 2014

Most of my clients don't even know what a Cayman is let a alone a GT3.
It's a Boxster a 911 or a Cayenne. That's all any one knows.
Then people who think they know will say my R is a GT3 to try and show they know stuff.
98% of people are clueless on Porsche models. Infact maybe even 99.8% of people are.
I can even show people my car, call it a Cayman R and people will still say it's a 911.
If they don't see it in person it's still that big 4x4....
As for rennlist and other forums it's the same select few geeks on them all which in numbers is tiny world wide.

I wonder how long before this story becomes newsworthy for the mainstream press to start reporting on. You GT3 guys could go buy some shares and go along for a protest vote.
It's a recall of what sub 200 uk cars maybe half that.
Not really big news to any Porsche owner or new buyer, that 100 or so people in the UK have had a recall.
The new mini D is well over due and Toyota need to recall 6 million cars.
People will still buy the mini and people will still get their GT3's all be it a bit later than expected.
The plus point is you can get your money back if you don't want it.
One of the many pitfalls of having the next latest and greatest, nothing new in that since cars were 1st made. Inc the 458 and the other 1000's of recalls on just about any new model.

If it's not such a big deal and you don't actually have a car yourself, you must have a lot of time on your hands to be on this thread and its predecessor trying to wind people up. now you are being daft......it beat the 458 Speciale, having driven the 458,i can say this was no mean feat.... this is the best of the best, the Jurnos award, they should be very proud...

The fix will unlikely alter that BUT at the moment it's a dust magnet not a car.

Best car you can buy even if its engine only last a short while.
I think here the question is more philosophical.. Clearly the GT3 cannot be branded as a 2014 car.. It is to all effects and purposes a 2015 model because the 2014 cars were just not ready and could be considered prototypes... Would you give an award to a prototype? No..
With a 2015 car then the competition would have to include not only the Speciale but probably the new Lambo and certainly the 650s journos are raving about..

That seems a very strange position to take, given the experience of those who have owned and driven cars hard and who likely have no engine problems whatsoever. The issue still appears to be an assembly error not a design error.APOLO1 said:

Also Apolo you stated before I seem to remember you being 'in the know' etc that there would be no other GT3 apart from the RS. I have to say this now looks a lot less likely. I very much doubt Porsche will actually allow the only non RS GT3 in the 991 series to be remembered as a car that a couple of examples caught fire and the rest were grounded for months on end while they left owners to stew over it. My guess is after the RS they will wait a little longer as to not ram it down owners throat that when they finally get their cars back the gen 2's release is imminent.
