Must be a hoot to drive and very quick! If you had to pick one car your GT3 or this which would it be?
I think I'd pick your 993 and I love GT3s!
still running in the engine but the cage has made a dramatic change ... much stiffer, much more planted and go-kart like and the turn in is a lot more precise and directI think I'd pick your 993 and I love GT3s!
early days but the map/smf and new engine feels a lot sharper/edgier with more guts low down
I would take the 993 and that's exactly what ive done as the GT3 is up for sale

The badging is always going raise a polarising debate; have to respect the owner's preferences here, especially with the scale of engine and body/cage investment
The big question is, can it do the run to Sainbury's ?
I'm personally fine with the badge. Ok so the box isn't done yet but it will be soon. Other than that, it basically is an RS CS, right down to stuff like the lightweight glass, seam welding, stoneguard delete, even the RS front wings. It just wasn't built by Porsche .... but myself, GTR and GT classics. The badging is always going raise a polarising debate; have to respect the owner's preferences here, especially with the scale of engine and body/cage investment

In fact you could say that because of the stock 3.8 engine, lack of ac, manual windows/doors/mirrors its actially more of a CS than some real CS's
Put 180 more miles on it today. It just feels mega. Has the rawness of a caterham and is just so flat and planted but still plenty of suppleness for the road. Money very well spent.

Just incredible... hats off Jackal
External respray too. Everything looks perfect ...wheels, engine/box, sunroof delete... real RS ethos.
Dread to think how much £££
If you had to get a donor car at todays prices and pay for all the labour (i did all my own labour on the suspension and brakes etc.) then i think it would run into an awful lot of money. The parts alone would be into 6 figures.External respray too. Everything looks perfect ...wheels, engine/box, sunroof delete... real RS ethos.

It looks stunning Jackal - well done.
How does it compare to the GT3 in terms of comfort, focus, rawness? Would you be happy doing a 2000 mile euro trip in it?
Not as delicate/accurate as the gt3 but for me, cruder, more raw, more organic, better control weights and textures and more exquisite sensations in corners. More nimble and intimate and more machine-like.How does it compare to the GT3 in terms of comfort, focus, rawness? Would you be happy doing a 2000 mile euro trip in it?
Love the GT3 but the high i get in the 993 is a sort of man machine bonding that is unparalleled.
Sorry don't come on here much but thought I would update the thread in any case.
Took the car to the brand new weighbridge at Shepperton this week and she made 1260kg with about 30L of unleaded, the spare and jack etc. Pretty pleased with that.
She was also mapped at Waynes last week and the engine is now stunning with plenty of verve and intensity. Really looking forward to this years 9 day Euro trip in the Pyrenees and DN16 in September.
