Cridfords Porsche
Discussion
seems the low end of the 3rd party indies, I went for a visit once would not go again, but that's just me, they sell cheaper cars than most so
you need to look at the car and if the price is right then buy it.
I would not rule them out if the perfect car comes up for sale, I just don't look at their site very often to see what stock they have.
where I look at:
911V
RSJ
Paragon
in no order every time I think about looking or changing. RSJ never seem to stock anything exciting though just run of the mill cars.
where 911V and Paragon seem to get some nice bits in and Paragon seems to always have 997 turbo's to choose from.
depends what you expect from a 3rd party dealer and what cars you are looking at.

My view is similar to MrDemons. I went there when I was looking for my turbo and didn't really like their sales pitch. Plus when they finished with the "you won't find a better car for the money", my answer was : Actually, I just saw a better car that's £1k cheaper, so I'm off to buy that.
Which incidentally was from Harbour Cars near Chichester, who I'd add to the recommended list.

They've recently moved from Ripley to Ewhurst in Surrey - a much larger site which was formerly a Skoda main dealer and before that a VW main dealer.
I've had helpful email dialogue with Jonathan too in the past, but not been to see them for a while. About 4 or 5 years ago I was looking for a 996 Targa and booked an appointment to view one at Ripley. When I got there (thankfully only a 25 min journey), it had a puncture and was wearing its space-saver, so no chance of a test drive! I thought it odd/rude that they hadn't called me (en route) to let me know that the visit was probably a waste of time. Needless to say I looked elsewhere.
Having said this, if I take my 997 out of warranty, I'll consider using them for servicing since they are so close to me, so I'll be monitoring this topic with interest.

Well, just to throw in a slightly more positive response re: Cridfords, I bought a 996 C4S from them earlier this year. I had been looking for a specific spec, and I spotted it on their website. Called them to arrange a test drive, turned up, car prepped and ready, and I took it out. No questions asked about whether I was a genuine buyer, just a nice test drive and general chat about the car - no strong sales pitch either. Talked through the history, checked the car over to the best of my ability, and put the deposit down.
Car then went for a final inspection whereby the pads and discs were replaced before I picked it up.
Had the car for 4 months now and loving it. Still under their 6 month warranty also (+ I extended for a further 12).
No experience of the other suggested Indies, but I at least found Cridfords very helpful.

I bought a 2006 C4S from them 3 weeks ago trading in my S3.
I found Michael to be very straight forward to deal with- no problems with a test drive and he agreed to replace a scuffed sill guard and pedal rubbers.
I then had a slight issue with an inner ball joint which was fixed yesterday.
I think their cars are decently priced and I've have no problem recommending them.
