I've never added a stripe or sticker to any of my cars. Never fancied the idea. This morning it dawned on me that I might actually like a stripe of sorts along the centre of my midnight blue 993. No Martini scrpit or anything like that just one fairly narrow simple red/blue band. The draker blue would likely merge with my existing midnight bodycolour however the lighter blue band might actually look quite nice alongside the red one. I guess if it looks naff or chavvy I could simply remove it again and put it down to a pre mid life crises.

Has anyone done anything similar that worked? If so where did you get your mits on the strips?

Cheers.

Clinchy on 911UK is the boy to ask. I think he's got the exact thing on his 993.

I have had great experience with Keith @ Prestige Parts: http://www.prestigeparts.co.uk/

Might be worth a chat?

I like the idea of a decal but have not been brave enough as i fear it could be too attention seeking.

I can't find a picture, but i've seen in the Porsche Accessories catalog you can get a bonnet version of this 'vintage' Porsche lettering decal as on this Boxster.

Thanks for the response chaps.
Clinchy that is what Im on about. Looks fantastic and is exactly what I was thinking of.
Did you apply the decals yourself?
Also are they easy to remove without damaging the paint?

You can get magnetic hood and roof stripes...or the full hit in conventional graphics.

I quite like the idea of full Martini stripes for my white Boxster Spyder as on the 918 Spyder

Not a 993, but I drew these stripes and had them printed for Le Mans,
Not too hard to put on once I'd figured out how to...

Personally I think the wider Martini stripes look best!

WOW all of these images are very cool...
The more I see 'em the more I like 'em!
Perhaps I should design my own decals and have them printed like Guitarplayer did.

Slight diversion here but has anyone tried using a 'Gulf' colours centre stripe on their P&J?

Maybe I'm getting carried away now....scratchchin Next I'll be adding a big number to the bonnet...come to think about it...ideabiglaugh
