When I was looking I wouldn't even consider a car without A/C and I expect plenty of others will be the same.
This is definitely the case Mike!

Unless it is 100% track use you need aircon. Most GT3s are now summer toys whether road or track use and ice cold aircon is a godsend in the hot sun. And that's coming from someone who has rarely had aircon. I've always said "just wind the window down", but after some sticky journeys I'm converted.

The only real options my car has is Aircon and colour coded centre console which luckily for me are exactly what I would have specced new. Very lucky to have my particular car. wink

Hey Henry you can't be coming on saying silver Mk2 comforts are hard to shift. You're totally wrong, as I was told by a couple of experts who always chip in together, zero corrosion and err indoors or something. wink Colour and CS spec are NO more desirable, you got that?! No more desirable!hehe
Morning Mark ! I know, I know. Very occasionally I get carried away and kid myself I know what I'm talking about .....
For the record, "Blackie" has been sold frown I'll PM you re the price, but the numbers mentioned on this thread for this Silver Mk2 only serve to confirm my (and others) thoughts, that the Mk1 is the safer place to put/have your money .....

Nice one H!
Thoroughly sorted car and you know what you're doing with them, more than most. The new owner will be chuffed.

It's gone to a good and appreciative home, along with the offer for me to drive it occasionally !!
It is an incredibly kind and generous offer, but I suspect one would only make me want it back all the more frown

LOL, maybe he sees it as insurance on his investment biggrin

It amazes me how friendly and close knit the Porsche world is really. Last year an owner I'd never met posted an air chamber out to me and told me to pay him once I'd received and tried it out !

bks, I'd rather loose weight than sweat my arse off. I keep picturing James May whenever someone mentions A/C delete biggrin

A/C on an Exige weighs 15KGs, so why does the Porsche A/C weigh nearly 3 times as much ? Is that 40Kg not the whole HVAC weight ??

When was it that Porsche made aircon mandatory in GT3 Cup and/or Supercup cars, so drivers could concentrate better, and mean the performance of the overall car/driver combination was improved in spite of the extra weight? 2012?

yeah 2012

6/7 GT3 air con is 25kgs complete

street car air con will not function properly when the car is driven hard on track in this weather.

When racing drivers turned into girls Dear Boy. Anyway it's a bit different racing in a Dubai Supercup round in 40 Degrees c wearing 4 layers of nomex and a lid to mincing around Brighton bye roads wearing shorts and a T shirt.

Honestly.

The next time you meet an Exige owner ask him if his A/C actually works.
