That would be my spec but also the option of a cage and belts.3.8 X51 - 430 bhp

The Cayman is already homologated to FIA GT4 so this car doesn't have any limitations in that respect. Meaning Porsche could in theory do anything they want - including launching the 4-pot turbo. Or it could be just another naff half-arsed marketing exercise.
Just for comparison - Lotus Evora GT4:

I was going to point that out; GT4 would denote that it is a homologation car and considering it is a fairly lowly level, perhaps people are getting a little excited!Just for comparison - Lotus Evora GT4:

It makes sense though, currently in British GT there are 2 997 GT3s GT4s running (of what i witnessed at Spa, anyway). Of course, the 997 is 'old' and i thought it was a bit weird that the 911 was used when the Cayman existed - from what you say it does exist, just not in the UK!
Anyway, in that case i am much more interested of the actual race car for this. I'm going to struggle to get the mega budget for GT3, but could see myself in the GT4 car!
You could also argue an ex-GT4 911 would be an accessible way of owning a GT3...

Deposit paid, now the wait
Surprised to read that you agreed to do so.Told yesterday at a dealership that letter of intent all that is required at this stage and deposit payable only when confirmation of spec is released. At that point you have the option of formalising the deal with a deposit and will retain your order place based on the letter of intent. Why you would forfeit £5k for no reason seems odd. Not only that, but the dealer also seemed to think deposit would be £2.5 - £3k.

As he was 14 in the que I think he tried to bribe the OPC with hard cash :-)
As at yesterday the letter of intent at a large dealership was at number 6 with an (guess)estimated allocation of 9 - 10. So if I were being quoted 14 elsewhere I'd simply call a few more dealerships.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
