Approx 24 metres.
Isn't it 15m. Aren't you using the final velocity rather than average/actual velocity? Not that it matters, it's bloody quick. Distance travelled = 30 (mph) x .447 (metres per second) x 2.2 seconds. This would be around 29 metres before the car hit 60 mph?
Probably a bit less as the average speed will be a bit higher than 30 since 0-30 takes less time than 30-60 but it's giving me a headache thinking about it. I should have gone to university....
Edit: I think it's:
60mph/2.2 seconds = 27 mph average = 12.2 metres per second for 2.2 seconds = 27m?

Sorry that's right. I was doing 0-30 MPH. Doh. Distance travelled = 30 (mph) x .447 (metres per second) x 2.2 seconds. This would be around 29 metres before the car hit 60 mph?

M/s at 60 is 27. Velocity is therefore 12 and distance using 1/2 at^2 = 30 ish m.

it seems we are both wrong.....I have the full tech manual..
918. L = 4645
W = 1940
H = 1167
I was quoting from the Porsche press release. The dimensions are the same as published in your 'tech manual' save and except for a 2mm difference in length. 918. L = 4645
W = 1940
H = 1167

Thanks for the maths,the 918 is quick for sure,i was just wondering with all the weight,drag etc how quick.My old hillclimb car /racer has done 20 meters standing start in 1.92 secs,and is 40 year old technology or lack of!
Re the vid clip We had 4 turbos to play with on a wet day,each car done over 60 launch control starts in the day,very impressive and quicker than the cgt,or it felt so.
