No suggestion that it was a poor decision at all so no idea what's with the rolleyes
A hint of sarcasm in your post I would suggest, maybe you were just complementing me on a good early call then.
Perhaps he remembers all the complete b*llocks you spouted about the GT3 on this very forum for several years ?
If I could be bothered (I can't) I could actually find one very specific post whereby you slated the build quality of the RS.

Put completely bluntly, you're a f*cking turncoat. As is A

House next door to mine is worth X amount therefore my house is worth X plus 10% as the housing market is moving upward. Same same.

Sooner or later someone is going to get rinsed on these cars.

Now now calm down its a car for fooks sake!! ...there is a difference in buying a car to drive and buying a car to 'hopefully' make some cash..i perceived the 996rs to be too cheap..nothing more, nothing less..

People have been talking about the bubble bursting for some time now and all the while it keeps getting bigger. By the law of averages, the doom mongers will be right, one day, but I cannot see any empirical evidence as to why it should burst, other than apparently "cheap money". But I think demand (in a global economy) is ever increasing, supply is ever decreasing.

What "collectible, rare" cars have gone up in value to come tumbling down, and stay down? I'm not sure there are that many?

Lehman was one of the biggest, if not the biggest financial disasters the world has known, and whilst the price of certain commodities collapsed, it didn't last very long, and they have come out the other side even stronger than they went in.

But this pattern has been seen before although in a different market, the housing market, Japan late 90s and in the western world prior to 2007 crash. There WILL be a readjustment soon but in the meantime people will make a lot of money out of it. Even people like Apollo who hated the 6RS is now jumping on the "make a easy buck on a used porsche" bandwagon, everyone is at it and sooner or later they won't be, money will be made and people will bail out. I would wager that most of these cars are going to speculators rather than enthusiasts.

Or maybe with two lottery winners (millionaires) every week there is more people about with a decent sum of cash behind them and don't care how much it costs they just want one wink

That's why I said rare and desirable. Look at the London property market. High quality (allegedly), low supply, high international demand. How long did it take that to reach all time highs following the crash?

It's always very hard to call a bottom or top to any market/commodity.

How long before rates reach 5%? Could be years yet before rates are meaningfully above inflation?

& as the late & famous Sir James Goldsmith said - few are skillful to time it to perfection to sell at the top, and buy at the bottom. Luck plays a part in it.

No I said Diamond as it's something rare and precious, not your average house. Do you see my point? confused

Do the plastic windows enhance or dial out the frequency/db's coming from the rear as i find with glass, the sound tends to travel, hit the window and enter the right ear (which i think is giving me slight tinnitus)?

I think the perspex rear window in the RS enhances the sound like a drum if that's any help. But I've never experienced the sound giving me any pain.

Ah ok thanks, just thought the supple nature of it might absorb the sound as such but guess not

The RS has less sound deadening...rear window is marginal. It does flap around a little at speed if side windows are open....(same on the 4.0 RS)
