More deliveries, didn't even mind being dragged out my night shift bed to sign for these babes....

Lovely polished lip and definitely the best choice of colour for the center lick

They look lovely - rolling chassis by year end is just amazing. I wish I was capable of something like this!

Really enjoying this thread - thanks for sharing. thumbup

Those are really nice! Are the insides painted gold too or is that just a reflection? nerd

Front Lip polished the rest is Gold. My last car had polished inner rims and I hated it, as I could never keep them clean. So eventually painted them silver, just to make cleaning easier...

Fitting the wheels under the body might look great, but now I've got the hub to hub widths front and rear I needed. I also have revised the body height by +10mm which was a nice surprise to get some more needed ground clearance, the wheel now have enough clearance above them for full bump in the suspension. The Larger wheels has worked in our favour..

Also I found the issue as to why the body just doesn't really fit right. Looks like the rear clip is just so bad on the left side its forcing the rest of it out by a mile... So will have to be cut up and sectioned to correct oh joy....

Well, Clive, it still look sgreat to us internet nerds!

I am shocked the body is that bad... I thought a number had been produced over the years, from those moulds (assume DS).

I am harbouring dark thoughts about this: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/parts-and-p...

Could be a nightmare to get running though!

Doesn't the FF have the front Diff powered directly from the crank at the front of the motor ?? Be careful that doesn't screw up a normal install.. Plenty of 550 and 575 V12's around and I do feel the same way, perhaps another project in the future maybe.... How about a Sagaris with a V12.....

My understanding was that there was a whole gearbox at the front of the engine but it doesn't look like anything too complex in that first photo i.e. nothing is sticking out below the ancillary belts etc. Even if there was a housing or something on the front of the crank, could it not just be blanked off and/ or maybe a mass damper added - something like a Rattler?

You may be right and a 550 or 575 V12 may be the way forward. I need a V12 in my life (not an old Jag) and in the back of something though a Sagaris would be awesome. I was thinking something like an e46 M3 might be a good donor candidate to get a V12 engine up and running, check it all works, prior to being moved into the back of a Group C rep wink

If you want a V12 in your life, how about a 27 litre, 600hp, 1500ftlbs torque V12.

Shaft driven overhead cam, 4 valves / cylinder, twin plugs, twin fuel pumps, twin oil pumps, dry sump, 90% aluminium alloy construction.

What more could you want.

I just happen to have one for sale! Still in it's box and not run since the MOD spent £80K rebuilding it in 1987.

Paul

I have another one up and running on a chassis buck.

Sounds like a RR Meteor to me although I thought they were 850BHP.

It Is and they were only 850hp is some people's imagination. They ranged from 500 to 650hp.

With all the parts I will not be using it only weighs 650kgs. I will be loosing about 100kgs of that.

I am not looking for a race car, the Ultima fills that spot quite well.

I am looking for a piece of "theatre" on the road. I don't like taking life too seriously.
