Us meaning me and the guy with the money.. The original 2 sheets of A4 plans for the chassis came from the guy that built 3 of the chassis you see in the last picture. He says (recently got in contact) that there's more than one car been built with original Porsche parts like above. Having to make it a road car (55mm ground clearance not road friendly) meant I really only used some of the outside chassis dimensions (to fit the Cage) and the floor plan angles to meet the body. Even with them and the wheel base which I knew I still needed to do a full mockup to place the axle center lines in the right place. Yes the structure is very similar but it took hours of Cad Work to get to what I have now. But I have enjoyed nearly all of it...

Well after being as sick as dog for a week, its nice to get back to the car... Lower WB's roughed out, top WB not as easy as I have to make the rear mounting point in thin air. So Seamless from the gearbox for structure and thin wall for the Double shear Points.

Clive

My questions/comments may sometimes seem like criticism (probably just my piss poor way of posing things) but the level of skill you show is indeed enviable and way beyond what I could ever achieve.

I do hope you are able to use this project as a springboard to start your own business.

Clive, I've been admiring your work for awhile. I admire your ability to get things done, and the size of your home shop!

I'm sure you're aware or know this guy near Vancouver that just got his 962 running?

Need to see what clearance we have below the body before I can build the rockers onto the top Wishbones.

Love this thread chap and thanks again for taking the time to showcase your work.

Forgive me if I'm being dim, the top rear wishbone inner mounting points do they run "dry" and how on earth would you change the wishbone if you needed too.

Forget that, just spotted the spacer in the photo at the top on the rear inner mount.

The Top WB will take allot of Loads seeing as the rockers are going to be built into them. Yes they unbolt from front and back with 5/8" bolts and the Spherical Joints that are in them are actually 3/4" units, with High Misalignment spacers either side that reduce the diameter to 5/8"... I'll post a Pic of the joints, I made these units as the Std off the shelf ones weren't as robust as I wanted.

Looks great. Did it take long to learn to TIG, and could you MIG weld befor you started? Some form of billet bracket on top of the gearbox for the other end of the shocks?

I've been Mig and gass Welding since I was an Apprentice. Tig takes a while to get right, mainly you have to learn again slow down and lots of practice. Helps to have a good Tutor to. I worked in a Dairy for 5 years and had no choice but to Tig Weld Stainless Steel nearly every day and there where 2 guys that had worked there for 20 years and helped my technique no end. There's lots of good stuff on YouTube but they cant look at you welds and tell you whats good or not...

Yes and after finishing all the infill piece to the Wishbones I'll be machining this to bolt to the top of the box... A little More Cad time on the bracket first though..

Been waiting for you to post the bracket info since the rockers appeared.
I looked at the fixing holes in the top of the 'box and thought they looked a bit on the weedy side to use on their own so I'm pleased to see your bracket is working off both the 'box and your adapter plate.

Your work always impresses me.

I watched a vid on TIG welding and the most important thing they were suggesting was to sit in front of the TV with a welding rod in hand and just continually practice feeding it through your fingers.
