We'll see, it's all speculative. Personal freedom is a pretty strong political weapon too and car choice is a pretty personal thing for many people - either as a status/fashion item or for driving pleasure or simply a lifestyle choice.

What we've seen in the last 20 or 30 years is a massive broadening of the whole market. When I was a kid in the 70's most people were driving Morris Marina's, Allegros and Mk3 Cortinas. Only rock stars and film stars drove exotica like 911s and only farmers drove 4x4s. Back then they were also warning us that oil was going to run out before the turn of the century, which was a bit of a worry to say the least. Who would have predicted back then that a mobile phone salesman, financed to the hilt, could now be tooling around on the same roads in a 500+ hp supercar and we would be here discussing which was the best of a dozen or so GT3 variants?

I think it's going to be the 997.1 in speed yellow. Probably.

I faffed about for a bit about buying that car. You got a good one there. For some reason I just couldn't do solid black but it's a lovely car.

yeah and back then ferrrais and porsches looked amazing and special and everything else looked mundane

even as recently as 1993 I remember driving around in my yellow Elan ... BT vans aside, it was pretty much the only yellow car in the whole of south london

nowadays even a focus S-max looks sporting and futuristic

in fact an aventador went past me the other day and I really wasn't quite sure whether it was a lambo or my mum's friend in her peugeot

VERY few cars look any good these days partly for this reason IMO

It takes the majesty, craftsmanship and attention to detail of something as bespoke as a Huayra to stand out these days. At goodwood it made even the LaFerrari sitting next to it look mass produced.
