Thinking of getting some roof bars and cycle carrier to transport my MTB on the Cayman but having never used one before I'm interested to know whether anyone has used one before and if they managed to avoid getting scratches on the car. I couldn't bear to damage it...

At the moment I'm only aware of the official Porsche RTS bars but I'm pretty sure that the Thule 591 carrier should work with it. Anyone know any different or can back up this view?

I'm guessing I must be blazing a trail here then biggrin

Or is it just tumbleweed in here these days?

I can't answer whether the kit you've suggested will fit a Cayman - but take a look at my posts on this thread, where I bought Thule fittings for my 996 turbo :

Well worth contacting the place I got mine (there is a link in my posts) - very helpful guy and highly recommended.

Thanks, very useful. I noticed that the rear bar is angled slightly - does this affect fitment or use of the cycle carrier at all? And did you use the Porsche one or a Thule one? I was thinking of getting the 591

I had no problems fitting the cycle carrier.

I'm not actually sure what make the carrier was in the end though - it came with the bars, so I guess it must be Thule (and come to think of it, all the keys matched so it must have been).
