That won't have sold! Unless the new owner comes on here and posts take it as unsold! This trick is why there has been a big increase in prices and most are falling for it. People who comment other wise have 6rs's tucked away, don't they alpinestar wink
Everyone loves a conspiracy theory. I do have a 6RS, which is not for sale, so frankly I don't give a hoot about values. I just don't think JZM would tuck cars away. They've sold RS' within hours over the last few months.

Well, I'm local to JZM and I know 2 of the customers for the last 3 997.2 RS they sold and I'm certain the third one was a proper sale too but I don't know who bought it.

Easy to sit behind your keyboards and sling mud because you don't like the fact that prices are going up on these cars? Anyone going to pop into the showroom and have the same conversation face to face with them? Thought not.

I'm beginning to think the same thing. Would it really be possible to effectively manipulate the market by doing this?
This is an old trick, with so few cars around its easy to try and control the price, I would wager a good bet that these cars are not sold......

Keep going Apolo, ever since you said they were a bag of st they've been rising in value wink.

Care to offer conspiracies on the two that "sold" at the other 2 dealers recently?

Not sure its mud slinging just an observation...don't seem to hear of may of these cars around after they've in theory been sold..for your info I own an Rs so not in my interest to talk values down.

lol very funny....rising in value and actually selling are 2 different things....very over valued at 150s.....and I know what the blue script car sold for and it ant anything like these prices...oldest trick in the book, put out a wacky price, wait a while, put up a sold sign, then advance the point," but the last one went for this", lol......

I too am a healthy sceptic when dealing with car dealers, but in relation to JZM, I can honestly say I would be surprised if the accusations of market manipulation are true. I have dealt with them for over 10 years and have always been given truthful and accurate information in my experience. I also think, removing cars from sale following a period of high appreciation when going into the traditionally quieter time for these cars would risky at best, and tie up a lot of cash/bank facilities for a business.
Are people suggesting they have done this with all the RS's they had for sale, the blue 4.0 and the 2 996RS's? That's £500,000.00 of stock assuming they were not SOR. If they were SOR they would need the approval of the owners who presumably would not have offered the cars for sale unless they were happy to accept the JZM offer?

I my experience, when purchasing a SOR vehicle, it is far easier to be able to obtain a substantive discount to the advertised price.....

Hexagon do, or put an artificially high price.

We all know Hexagon do and that SCOM are toppy, but JZM in my view are pretty transparent. Whether the 6s are being sold at 150 or not is a bit academic, as there appear to have been at least 3 cars advertised at the 120 mark, and each is being shown as sold by 3 different dealers. So I can only conclude that prices have gone up substantially in the last year.

And again I reiterate that my view has nothing to do with being an owner. It's a rare commodity, the market is bigger than it's ever been and supply can only go down. No doubt there'll be corrections along the way, but it doesn't take a genius to work out the trend on RS' generally is from bottom left to top right. Despite our resident racing God's view of them.

I disagree,

I see nothing wrong in this price practice, its only the same as auction house accepting fake bids, in order to drive the price up, its much more wide spread than you would think, I will be doing this with a 4.0 soon in a export market.

As for the car in question, imv it has no right to be up on the coat tails of the RS range in the round . I get all the most "successfully car" ever in a one make series ect, but the clue being in the" one make series"..imv, the proper RSs will continue to rise, who knows at what rate, but the overall trend is up.

But this car as a road car its a dog, the market knows this, hence it lags way behind other far better cars in the RS range, and long will it continue to do so imv....

Apollo chap, I thought you decided to buy one ? are you not the buyer of one of the JZM cars, and the on going wind up about the car being 'crap' is just that ? I hope so, that would be funny.

i've just stuck another 3 thou into mine for a 24k service, new a/c condensors and top mounts, the fact the car isn't a depreciating asset at least offsets this.

fair enough, they aren't for everyone - much as I enjoyed all the 997 GT3 derivatives I've owned, the 996 RS just got under my skin more so. but then I only really use it for track days.
