I'd go white with Martini stripes and Weissach package. Predictable but so fitting, IMHO

Liquid metal silver is a really nice colour having seen it on one of the CGTs at Reading last year, like a really intense version of polar silver but way more colour depth. Whether it's really €48k better than GT silver however is rather open to question.... Wishful thinking I realise but if I were ordering one it'll likely be in black or dark blue... one can dream on!

Absolutely amazing looking piece of kit - love to see one in the flesh -uber uber jealous!!!
Living less than 5 miles from the Porsche factory as I do I've had the pleasure of seeing quite a few of them already. They look stunning on the move.
so may I please ask what you feel is the best colour,? I have a met blk car with blk trim, and acid green, belts etc the end of next month, and my 2nd one is Nov build, thinking of going met chrome blue,
Respect for being in the position to be able to afford both, but I'm curious - why are you buying two?

I'm assuming it's not His and Hers as you're deciding the colour on both...

It was myself and Nick from sl restoration who detailed the car at paintshield. It was my clients, but very glad Nick was there to help. The car needed a lot of machine polishing to get it to how it looks in the pic. That's the trouble with hand finished cars with people that either don't know what they are doing or don't have the time to do the job properly. Looks amazing now and also has gtechniq Crystal serum on the non film covered Areas, giving it the best possible start.

The car looks awesome in red and the rear area where the exhausts are looks like something out of star wars!

We have other pics if you guys wanted to see them.

Francis

Emerald detailing.

I would take any 918 in any colour.

If I had a choice it would be whatever silver the prototypes were sprayed in.

From what I can see metallic works better than matte on this car as it accentuates the rear end detailing.

No not at all, for the same reason I have 2 GT3s, I spend a lot of time in the EU, so it saves having to move a car over there and back to the UK..

Mr APOLO1, if you would also like to give your 918 the best possible start too and get rid of all the paint defects that are no doubt going to be in every car, i am more than willing to help.

Mate, only jesting with you, I have seen your work, its the best out there, I have my car booked it with Tom, it would be a pleasure to allow you to work on my car. But just a couple of points please, I know just how much detail, they go into at the factory on these cars, do feel that you can improve on this, also PS will cover up a lot of paint marks ect...

or is it that you feel that its is best to get the car in the best possible condition 1st.

They maybe go into what they think is a lot of detail at the factory but every single new Porsche rolls off the production line with loads of paint defects, 918 included. It's the same for every new car out there - I did a McLaren P1 a few months ago and considering McLaren claim to be perfectionists I'd have given them 5 or 6 out of 10 tops.

If you have that livery do Martini pay you for driving around advertising their company?

My brother designs the paint plants for McLaren and due to their desire to up volumes, this creates issues with the finished product.... Hand finished cars are always superior to production line finished cars.
