I remember back in my early days of doing Track days and during the briefing at Bedford there was a mass intake of breath from those present when the TDO said fuel is available on site at £1/ltr.

Rumour has it that the US and the Saudis are in bed together to keep the oil (and consequently the gas) price low to punish the Russians. The goal is three 63s - Oil price per barrel, Roubles per USD and Putin's age. Russia needs the revenue from gas sales to keep afloat, the yanks see the threat of a strong Russia and are doing all they can to hinder them.

The oil price could drop as low as $40 which would be a disaster for the UK as it costs approx. $45 to extract from the North Sea. Alex Salmond is looking like a very lucky guy at the moment, if the Scots had got independence they would now be looking at a budget deficit the size of their entire NHS annual spend.

Great for the 24 hr next year , as 24 hrs running ,plus qualifying etc at about 5 mpg ....... is a huge saving ........yeeeehaaa
