Anyone know this 996 Turbo?
Discussion
Afternoon all,
I fancy a change and am currently considering a 996TT or 997 or Gen2 Boxster S. I am after something fun for the weekend but still practical. Having had a 987.1 I really fancy the gen 2 but this has caught my eye:-

Does anyone know this car? Does it seem reasonable value?

Nice in yellow, except the seatbacks and belts, but hey.
The rear spoiler arrangement is odd, looks like a GT2 spoiler grafted onto the Turbo's decklid.
Yes, looks like a Misha GT2 add-on wing. The rear spoiler arrangement is odd, looks like a GT2 spoiler grafted onto the Turbo's decklid.

Unfortunately it DOES actually look like that.
Yes I'd take that off, fill the holes and get it repainted to return to standard. Also the genuine turbo alloys are available so I'd put those back on too.The rear spoiler arrangement is odd, looks like a GT2 spoiler grafted onto the Turbo's decklid.

Thought it was one of those bigger blades that can be fitted on the existing mounts, but the support struts look chunkier, so I am guessing it is fixed in position ?
If it was another colour I would maybe not like it, but I would say the overall effect & the black wheels look fine with speed yellow.
Looks nice, and if you come to change & the next owner objects, you have the standard wheels ( & I guess the standard spoiler is probably still available & offered with the sale ? )
Worth checking if seizing of the standard spoiler mechanism was perhaps the rationale behind the spoiler change, as , if so, it isn't cheap to put right for the next guy. I am guessing that even if it functions, lack of use won't help the mechanism for the future . . . but, enjoy as it is, I think it looks nice & not at all OTT.

That looks like a good buy for someone.
It looks like the Misha wing which is bigger than the replacement wing I have.
When I see yellow with black wheels I am tempted to change to black but are black wheels 'last years thing'?
Brighter silver might be the way to go.

Take the after-market spoiler and wheels off, paint the front lip yellow (to match side sills and rear lip) and, that would look lovely
I like the yellow seatbacks belts and stitching too
I agree with everything except the front lip - I think it looks great with the original black lip.I like the yellow seatbacks belts and stitching too

Painted sills are great though.

I have seen the car in the flesh and it all looks ok.
It could do with some standard wheels putting on, but for that price it good value for someone.
I had a choice of the yellow one or an artic silver one, i bought the artic silver car .
Just personal choice thats all
Can you tell me a bit about the car - does it look tidy in the flesh? Did you drive it? Any info is much appreciated as the car is nearly 175miles from me and time is rather limited at the moment to go looking at cars that aren't what they seem.It could do with some standard wheels putting on, but for that price it good value for someone.

Thanks,
It doesn't seem that cheap to me. Are the original wheels available with the car ?
If not you need to factor in a set of wheels, sort out the rear spoiler and so on.
This one appears to be newer, more original, lower miles, face-lift model and not much more expensive or am I missing something ?
