There were some stunning cars, but hard to beat the daddy...
I think there was at least 1 of EVERYTHING anyone has ever or is currently lusting for on PH with none of the 'values' nonsense going on... Great to see so many GT3 ands RSs and the 918, Cup and Le Mans cars were fab too. Pictures cannot capture how fun this event was, well organised too
I have to say I disagree with a lot of the posts..i thought there were a lot of poor cars there .Some owners imo have got 'lucky' as prices for average cars have gone up to silly levels and the majority of those cars are iffy at best..the parade lap (half-lap) was also a tad cringeworthy ..watching Porsche Turbos at 30mph not that impressive imo.
my opinion of the whole event was that it was pretty good and well organised the weather was fine and the cars were.......Porsches!.....but there were definitely some familiar cars missing surprised to see just the 1 CGT (I only saw 1) I didn't see any 993 GT2's although there must have been 1 somewhere....was there? the racing was a big plus over beards in the park type affair......and there didn't seem to be many useful trade stands.....£30 was a bit strong but I guess you got the racing Etc. added in plus you could walk about pit side....all in all B+ from me

Perhaps you should have come to the PCGB track day on Friday if you wanted to see them at speed, not what parades are about, and how come you think it was only half a lap too? Cars came in and went out the same gate on the Indy circuit.Perhaps you would be happier sitting watching a row of cars on a lawn and criticising the standard of the cars rather than just enjoying the sight and sound of them as in a group as we did.

Maybe I would ..but a fifty yard dash off the start line to Paddock..a crawl at 20 mph towards Druids and a traffic jam for 10 mins towards Surtess hardly a spectacle tbh..and in general the standard of cars on show was imo not great and makes me feel the market is a tad over stretched for a lot of these cars..a lot aren't great but commanding top prices..Perhaps you would be happier sitting watching a row of cars on a lawn and criticising the standard of the cars rather than just enjoying the sight and sound of them as in a group as we did.

Err, it wasn't a market of any kind AFAIK - it was a chance for owners to display the cars that they enjoy, nothing to do with buying or selling them thegoose said:

Special thanks to the chap in the white Cayman competing in the 'speed' championship. Came out of the pits and when straight into the gravel; i dropped by ice cream laughing.
I'm glad I amused you... I hope your Mummy bought you another ice cream!!I think the beauty of the day was seeing enthusiasts turning up with cars that they may have owned for many years and have become part of the family or even handed through generations.
This to me is why the event is so big and the marque is so well supported.
Weather you own a 991 gt3 or a 1978 SC full of patina the value is irrelevant its the being there and displaying the history of the cars that count.
My 12yr old son for example would have gladly swapped our 997 GT3 for a 356
Have to say its the best Porsche event ive been to in many years

I have just bought a 930 Turbo, that is unmolested and as original as you could expect for a 26 year old car. I have two choices. A) keep it well looked after with frequent services, frquent driving, and putting right those things that pop up, or B) i could spend thousands getting it so pristine that I couldnt drive it.Edited by kayc on Monday 22 September 16:21
I love driving, so its choice A for me, and it is only worth what someone will pay for it.

What an awesome day! Some incredibly rare kit out on display and everyone I spoke to was very welcoming.
Who won the concourse in the end?
Still waiting for the concours results but the turbo cars that picked up a prize were - Who won the concourse in the end?
1976 911 Turbo, Dave Price. 1980 911 Turbo, Simon Dixon, 1989 911 Turbo, Brian Farminer. Turbo Evolution cars - Dave Jones, 996 Turbo, Demetrius Charalambous, 1998 993 Turbo S, Dave Wilkins, 1993 964 3.6 Turbo, Paul Musgrove, 997 Turbo S.
Really glad so many people enjoyed this event, the feedback generally has been really positive.

May be you should have a go,not so easy on cold tyres and a greasy track. The person concerned is new to it this season and is not shy of having a go,it might have been running on alcohol though;)Good weekend overall.
