Yes it is David Lees car. What were you racing? I used to help David at some of the race weekends. It was good fun. Brought back some good memories viewing the car again last week. I would love to buy it, but don't think the Mrs would be best pleased !
Narrow bodied 3.2 Carrera with a 3.3 turbo engine. Iris blue metallic. We had some very close races. I had more outright speed but Dave had better brakes and handling. I'd say, buy it if it is reasonable money. You only live once
I found this image with it in the back ground
I have an interest in this thread, because my Dad (Ray Hollyman) used to race in the intermarque and Porsche open around the same time in a similar car, his is a Porsche 964 cup, with wide body work and a turbo. He still has it, we've been testing it with a plan to getting it racing again next year.
I have an other similar car, that started life as an RS, then got written off and re shelled with an unregistered shell from porsche in 1996, and has now been a race car the rest of its life. unfortunately it doesn't have an RS chassis number so don't imagine its worth very much.

Very interesting, what series are you planning to race in next year? Would be interested to see pics of your cars. Any other period photo's?!I have an interest in this thread, because my Dad (Ray Hollyman) used to race in the intermarque and Porsche open around the same time in a similar car, his is a Porsche 964 cup, with wide body work and a turbo. I'll do the AMOC intermarque agian next year in one of the 964's, the na one needs an engine rebuild first though, so depends how long it takes to get bits for that, and also depends how successful our test program goes for the turbo as to which car we use. I have no period photos at all, of either car, just current ones. shame really, they were both used just before the digital era, so not much on the internet either.

Wow, I heard that was coming onto the market. I saw some photo's of the restoration. It was completely stripped back to bare metal and everything renewed/replaced/restored. That has definitely been a 'money no object' rebuild, but is an indication of where they think the market is for top end Cup Cars. Be interesting to see if it sells quickly or not...
