Not all OPC accept that... Sytner is an example
I'll pay what it takes to get a job done properly. In two years of Porsche ownership however, my OPC experience has been pretty poor, to say the least - to the point where I'm not renewing my warranty and will be going to proper mechanics from now on. Hartech seem to be planning a service plan for the Gen 2 997s, so will likely use them and/or PK Supercars.

No high horse here fella, the moronic bit is you not asking the OPC what a minor service entails before coming on here whining about OPC servicing prices. The usual way to suss out process is to ring 2 or 3 OPC's and compare the rates.
Shurv, you sound like a complete prick

Hahaha. I love a straight talker!
OP, get used to it mate. I am walking into Audi this Thursday with my pants around my ancles with a £560 for a minor on my A8. You dont get the secretary with the polished nails, the leather sofas and glass fronted showroom for nothing!
TBH I do have a tame service guy on board who should pull 25% out of that, which makes a £20 drink for him worth while.

TOV!E, wind your neck in you F*cktard, no need for insults like this on a motoring forum. It marks you out as the complete prick. I know full well what a Porsche costs to service properly, I've got one, you bellend.

I used to haggle on servicing on my Cayman S, but I put a decent amount of business through the OPC (several upgrades and retrofits). Why wouldn't someone do this? It's free money in your back pocket.

As said above you should get 10% off just by saying you're a Porsche Club member.

I just politely asked for a better price as I'd bought the car from them and I thought it was slightly unfair to be charged the same price as someone who hadn't.

When the girl mentioned the price of the brake fluid change , I just laughed and said I wasn't prepared to pay it , I think it was done for half price £75 rings a bell.

I haggle the price of everything I buy , always start with " what's your best price " and 9/10 I always get something knocked off.

Shy bairn's get nowt.

It is crazy what prices these main dealers charge for serviving.A lot of checks are just visual and a service can be carried out pretty quickly. If I put it in perspective I had my Noble serviced (yes by a 1 man band outfit but with over 40 years experience)I supplied the consumables about £60 full service and replaced rear brake pads bled the system stamped my book £160 cash.I know he has low overheads compared to a main dealer but over 400 notes for a routine service on a pretty much new vehicle is a lot in my opinion but then they have got you by the balls if you dont want to invalidate the warranty

When buying some bits from the parts department I simply asked "can you do it any cheaper" and he gave me 10% straight off.

When discussing the cost of having the sport button fitted I asked them if they do the 10% discount - "err why" was the response. "Because Porsche Club great britain".

wink
