I have a 997 gen1 Turbo and I'm thinking of trying some PS2's.

I will have them fitted by a local tyre shop.
They will be N rated.

I have an OPC warranty.

Can I expect any warranty issues and had any one got any feedback about these tyres versus the OE pirellis?

Thanks

MPS2 Soooo much better than Pirelli its unbelievable. No problem using a local tyre fitted re warranty as long as they are n rated.

Definately a huge step forward from the Pirelli's.

In the end my OPC fitted my PS2s but during the haggling there was never a warranty issue mentioned while the OPC knew I was planning to use my local tyre fitter (who was £200 cheaper on the set).

I had the PS2's on my 997 Turbo too mate top tyres...and yes I am going to admit this on a forum but also the Michelin has a decent ridge to protect the tyre a bit in case you park quite close to the kerb...(I never did of course) ;-)

MrD - I am not up on 'approved rubber' as it were..he has warranty I think. The Supersport still isn't 'N' rated is it?

I forgo the N spec issue and rather have a faster and safer tyre fitted to my car.

Each to there own of course ;-)

OP has an OPC warranty though, non N spec tyres may cause an issue.

As someone who has a tyre fetish, I am considerably fked off with the stupid warranty / N rated situation.

I've just had the MPSS fitted and I think they're a belter of a tyre. Can't wait to see what they're like on the track with some heat in them.

You can get heat in them on the road, that's why they are so good, it's not a track tyre.
But would make a good wet track tyre.

Is that true that MPSS last more miles than PS2s? I thought MPSS had shallower tread depth than normal tyres when new, 5mm or something, so I'd thought they wouldn't last?

Jibaro, they are referring to MPSS and you are referring to MPSC, totally different tyre.

PS If anybody is looking for a set of MPSS for a GT3 PM me

When I had the PS2'S, I found they came alive on the track once there was some decent heat in them. I'm hoping that same level of change when the MPSS get some decent heat.
I live in Cheshire and am yet to find a decent road that will razz them up to any decent level. If anyone can recommend a favourite road, I'd love to hear about it.

Given your location I would say Oulton Park to give them a proper work out.

I melt all road tyres on track after 2 or 3 laps, and you will also just roll off the limit of front camber if stock.

I love the PS2 had 8 sets, but the PSS (had 3 sets) is better still and works in the wet much much better. I would never track either again, pointless.
PSS do hold up better though and do clean up well after the day is over.
Never track a road pirelli tyre you will melt it in 1 lap and kill it.

At the risk of sparking off yet another MPSS/N-rated/Warranty debate...

Out of interest, are/were you in warranty when you ran MPSS and did you ever claim while wearing them?

I claimed with race maxx tyres on, no issue for an exhaust part and wind deflector bushes.

Not sure how a OPC can refuse a claim on a non related item if you know and buys your cars from them.
