Hi - has anyone taken the rubber channels out of a hardtop or coupe roof in the sections that run front to back on each side - they are the blocks that are about 40mm across and run the length of the roof - I want to take them out but I suspect they will come out just fine - but putting them back will be another matter entirely?!?

Anyone tried to do this before? I would welcome some advice. I'm trying to cover the roof with a carbon wrap to cover some bad scratches on the hardtop, and want to cover these outer sections too ideally as well as the main roof panel.. Help!! Simmo

You are the only person I know who actually uses a hardtop for a 997, let alone wrapped one, so you may not get many replies.

I have to use the car all year road as my mrs has the other car. It makes it warmer / quieter and has better vis out the back window. It was also as cheap as chips to buy and fit. Just want to cover the scratches. It's the same design I think as a coupe roof - maybe i should change the thread title!! Cheers simmo
