Yes as far as i am aware it works like this. Men in white coats and soft gloves fitting by hand the fancy bits you've spec'd.Its definitely a different dept to the normal production line and will increase your production time.

I'm with you on this one, insure for what you pay (ideally below £75k) and if the worst happens, either try to claim market value, or just get your money back and move on. I'm not sure that the owner of the white GT4 that was written off ever confirmed if Admiral paid out, but he ended up in a rather nice silver GT4 with some hint that Porsche arranged a new build because they felt sorry for him (for having his mate wreck his car!)
I was informed recently by my insurer that 'market value' is only up to a declared value. This is why they ask you what the value of the car is or what you paid for it when you take out the policy. In the case of a total loss they will then only pay the market value up to that figure i.e. if the market price goes down you get less and if the market price goes over the price you paid/declared you only get the price you paid/declared. To get the current high market price of the GT4 you need to get them to agree that price when you take out that policy....you will of course pay a higher premium for having such a high value.GT4P said:

I'm with Manning - track cover , repairer of choice , agreed value , very clear and personalised communication from the office etc - much cheaper than Porsche Insurance - In fairness , luckily , I've never needed to test either in a claim situation and as such I can't recommend them , as until this happens , you just don't know. So to bring this thread back on topic. My GT4 is being built today and will be ready to ship to the UK on Wednesday, should receive it the first week in March all being well!!!!
Anyone found any good Insurance companies to deal with - Seen some are with Admiral others gone down the specialist route any that don't require the fitment of a tracker would be preferred.. I'm not going to be tracking mine so that's not a concern any pointers will be gratefully received.

R, I tried to get insurance via Mannings for the GT3 but they didn t do agreed value over list price on vehicles less than 1 year old.......has that now changed?An observation on insurance quotes and requirements if I may.
Just because Mannings (or whoever) didn't require a tracker for your car, does not mean that they will have the same requirements for everyone else. If your car is garaged in a low-risk postcode then maybe a tracker won't be required. If you're leaving it on the street overnight in Peckham then one probably will. There's more to this than differences between insurers.

I think that's a very good question.The lateral values seem quite high. Especially given temps and tyre. I'm not questioning your driving at all because I know you are one of the fastest trackday drivers out there.
But what do you feel about the values? Do you feel them completely accurate? Are the they "spikes" of g or does a trace show them as steady state?
Looking forward to getting ours to Oulton on the RS day in March.

I would not have thought it was possible but --- in the compressions at Cadwell it may be. I was discussing the figures today with a trackway instructor ...
Had the inputs been crude I'm sure the car would have been sliding far more than it was --- hence losing grip --- but I don't know how to get more detail than this from the Porsche system. I have yet to connect it to my telephone !
