Oooooof - So good!

Interesting that Evo are also mentioning PDK-S as a possible transmission, which has been pretty much ruled out for a while, so I thought?
Whats the transmission of choice PDK-S or Manual ?

I'd go PDK-S, if offered, as would many others, as I understand it... However, I'd be happy with manual, as would many others (and some would like it as a preference).

My understanding was that PDK-S didn't fit (for whatever reason) and it took input from other sensors (perhaps RWS), which the GT4 won't have. Hence, manual only...

Only a couple of days to wait, I guess... And I still don't know if I'll be in or out of a job!

Do people with LOIs / deposits expect to know by the end of this week if they are successful in getting allocation? Or will it just be specs then a longer wait to find out if you get a car?

I'm hearing very limited allocations so I'm gearing myself up for disappointment!
No you will still have to wait to hear depending on the OPC's allocation.

Its down to the DP as to who he allocates a car not first come first serve

35 opc's, seems to be 15+ names down at each plus all the VIP clients and 100 2015 cars , many people are NOT getting 2015 cars.

600 interested parties into 100 cars !

hence why my car is NOT for sale for a good while yet.

I've had my name down with several OPC's for a while now. Some seem to know more than others (or are claiming to know!) Last I heard from one OPC was that the run will be one year only and limited (but not sure on numbers). It sounded like the system would go live on 4th/5th feb for deposits/ orders. Given the completely different info I received from 3 different OPC's I'm not sure anyone really knows what's going on so Wednesday can't come soon enough.

Sounds about right. The only rumour I haven't heard is that it's going to be a turbo diesel.

Likewise! Do you expect Cayman R's to take much of a hit when the GT4 comes out?
I would say no difference they are going up now and the new car will be a £75k+ car with options

makes the R a Steel for £42k, and will not affect value imo still one of todays best 1 car for all drivers cars for the money and only 100 or so manuals in the UK.
only thing which makes the cars worth less is more miles on them or low spec.

it's a great price point for people looking to have an upgrade from a hot hatch or a Lotus or some thing about 30k to the R at £40k.

the numbers have been out for months

100 2015 cars and a 100 2016 cars is to the best of any ones knowledge.

I doubt you will get any better info than that on the 4th, because we cannot even get 991 GT3 numbers sold in the UK bar its some where between 132 and 250 lol.

The CR will likely remain a £40k car for a long while.

The GT4? A premium initially.

Can the GT4 take a premium ? maybe £5k but after that you are into 997.2 GT3 money and that's then a tough call.
If GT3's keep going up then the GT4 has space to go up.

Hmmmm... maybe I should stick with the R, because do I REALLY need a GT4, that's the question that I may not even need to answer come the end of the week smile

I could stick the £35k saved on a Ariel Nomad! wink
Personally I think the R is a very good car for the money. Is the GT4 going to be worth twice the cash? that's the question........
