I think for a new to Porsche owner then £75k is worth it, the R was over £60k in good spec.
But a few of us R owners adding £35k to our R's now they are at £40k to get a GT4 is not an easy call.
10k on top of an R for a top up and refresh with tricks parts is still only £50k and could see you In a 360 BHP car with coilovers and £25k spendo !!
So, no a GT4 is def not worth 35k on top of an R, but it is shiny and new lol....
I don't mind taking the risk as long as it steers ok, I cannot abide the electric steering, I can put up with most other things, but the R steering is so good, even better than GT3 steering imo (after it's set up) that will be hard to loose.
I have my Spyder to fall back on though for that passive damper, direct steering and real LSD feel. phew.
I really need a 991 GT3 owner to let me have a drive ;-)
Surely this car like the 991 GT3 will be electric steering. Im getting a little colder on the whole idea but lest see what tomorrow brings first But a few of us R owners adding £35k to our R's now they are at £40k to get a GT4 is not an easy call.

while yes it will be electric, I still dislike the GTS steering over my R, but the GT3 software while still not as good as the old set up is said to be a lot better than the latest GTS cars.
one can only hope it has the GT3 software steering set up.
will we be able to get that sort of detail tomorrow ?, I very much doubt it, so many will still order blind if they want to get early cars.

Gotcha. Personally im thinking its better to be on the 2nd batch of cars now to get a flavour of what this car is really aboutone can only hope it has the GT3 software steering set up.

that does cross my mine to get a 2016 car, see what it's all about and Porsche always mod a few things/iron out issues.if the cars going to be great though then you wait another 12 months for one, tough call.

Do we think orders open tomorrow or Thursday? I heard the "reveal" was the 5th, but maybe order books open a day earlier?
no one knows, best to check the Porsche site at 8 am tomorrow see if it's listed.hard to say what the full launch is as the car will be shown in March at the motor show.
but with a game launch also and the 4th it's is def a date for the car who knows what will happen tomorrow.
if it was a true embargo date every magazine site will have the car and spec listed tomorrow.
or it might just be a yes the GT4 is real wait till the motor show for the full launch !!

...while my local OPC said yesterday that they're getting information this Friday...
Not long now either way.
Mine has no idea, tomorrow or thursday he thinks. Not long now either way.
On the plus front he also confirmed I will definitely get one ,even if they only get an allocation of 1. (some good comes of having 2 911 turbos go kaboom !)
My OPC has just e-mailed me to say they are contacting customers today who have given a LOI to make them aware the sale of the GT4 may go live tomorrow and customers will only have a small window of an opportunity to make a purchase.
They said the deposit level is £10,000, they require this the minute it's launched if not beforehand and still does't guarantee allocation (that is subject to Porsche and the Dealer Principal's prefered customers).
Don't know what to do / think here as there are so many OPC's saying different things....

Most are asking for 3k so 10k is taking the p1ss especially when there are some that require no deposit yet and there is no physical car! They said the deposit level is £10,000, they require this the minute it's launched if not beforehand and still does't guarantee allocation (that is subject to Porsche and the Dealer Principal's prefered customers).
