ha...

ol skool stuff.

music to my ears.

I have been emailed by opc saying that it will be unveiled in Feb 2015.

it's exciting trying to know what it will have beyond and above the GTS. Every little engineering detail will be relished.

Imv, it will never be as good as a spyder on a B road and won't compare to a gt3 on track either

Each to their own though

all things said, got no doubt it will be an epic car, whatever it turns out to be

that's something coming from the fact that it isn't even released yet...

right. you must be a factory test driver posting on PH.

Also just to add I'd have to add some Dosh once spec'd up to the GT4 vs my CS 997.1. Wondering if that's a very bad trade

Have to say right now I'm thinking the Boxster GTS is a cracking car for the money

Adding to the speculation: Spoke to a Porsche employee who claimed that GT-badged cars are (at least for the foreseeable future) set to remain N/A. Not sure whether he meant only the GT3s or also other variants

The Boxster GTS is incredible for the money. I don't know what you'd really gain for more money.

As above then, Some OPC's are leaking info and the Post above confirms Feb which is what I had, just did not want to post it 1st as I was told not to post.

Just odd no leaked shots since this one 4 or 5 months back.
There were some leaked pictures on Autogespot in September, these are the most recent images that I've seen but appear to be of the same car seen in your shot.

Was in dealer yesterday as passing ....

I've been asking about GT4 for last couple of months and till this point they didn't know anything more than the forum talk. Last week they have confirmed officially from Porsche , GT4 , Spyder and Macan GTS . Was told they would have full spec and allocations in Feb .
They'll normally align with a motorshow in terms of an official announcement. The Spyder was LA in 2009, the Cayman R was LA in 2011. LA is but a few weeks away.

Hopefully it'll be properly hardcore and track focused. I've put my name down to allow me to retire my 996 RS from regular track use, as it's increasing value and nice original condition is starting to play on my mind.

I think the answer from me is : 'Probably'.

From the mule photos its going to look similar to the techart Cayman, with less tacky wheels. To me it looks like a modern re-interpretation of a Gt2.

If you love the GT3 and it works for you then no, if you are like me and find it frustrating than yes.

I guess it will be hard for quite a few people to swap.

But the 997.1 is quite old now and cars do need a refresh, people laugh but a 10 year old car will need that 10k at some point.
Add in a major service and a set of tyres and it would make a good part ex esp while prices are strong.

have you got a top 3 slot at your OPC for the 1st batch other wise it's a long wait.

I don't want to sell my R as I cannot see the steering being as good, but some times you just have to move on esp while you can still buy a new manual sports car and the turbo's are coming.

If it has a 3.6 then it's going to be the GT3 RS4.0 of the Caymans

Anyone?

I'm already considering cancelling my GTS order as it's not going to be here till around May 2015, I wouldn't exactly be thrilled if it arrived only weeks before the first GT4's do.......

Apollo you spend most of your threads telling people they can't judge a car which they haven't driven ( which is true btw) ,but then you've judged the gt4 inferior to the gt3...without driving it.

Anyway ,I dithered about the 991gt3 and ended up without ,so I've ensured I'm getting one of these, when I tested the 991 range recently it was the brief drive in the cayman that most impressed me,so I have high hopes for this gt4.
