I am happy with it, not sure what else could be done at this price range bar the final drive.

Electric steering is here to stay. so that's that :-( and it's the best yet so they say.

It's not a GT3 because one can buy a GT3.

So it's a GT4 and it looks ok ;-) only option for buyers is really a 2011 997.2 GT3 if one can now find one at ok money, but they have just jumped up £15k.

I would not take a 997.1 GT3 over a GT4 but many would and that's fine.

works for me, really looking forward to getting one and I think the reviews are the best to be expected given the cars specification. I am buying one to compliment a GT3, not replace it. I am sure I am not the only person doing same. I very much doubt anyone is trading down from a GT3 to a GT4. Therefore to compare one with the other is rather ridiculous. Of course the drivetrain of the GT3 is much more engaging, that's what you are paying for over a GT4 (should they both remain available to purchase new). The fact Porsche can still produce these kind of cars for the buying public (ahem...) should be cause for rejoicing, not bickering.

not heard of anyone specifying the 'track app' - does that include an on board video that you can play back ? I think i'll just strap a 'go-pro' to the roll cage.

Will do min 2 max 4 track days a year (Spa and the Nordschiefe), am I making a mistake to spec PCCB's ? Had them before on a gen1 997 RS and they stood up to track use very well. Maybe I wasn't trying hard enough !

I have got a GT3 RS coming in October and I would still take a GT4 to play with (if i could get one). I think the whole package looks superb, the driver reviews confirm how much fun it is, it looks like they have hit the sweet spot for a sub £80k super car. The RS will have the 3.8 up to 410bhp, rev to 8000, be 20kg lighter, 10cm lower, 20cm wider with extensions, I will take one of those too please.

I agree. I would not consider selling a GT3 to buy a GT4 but would certainly consider buying a GT4 to compliment my GT3. The car certainly has that level of credibility to me. I also have a LOI in for an RS version. If they end up racing the GT4, there are bound to be changes that they wil need to homologate to iron out any gremlins. Ideal for an RS version.

I'm interested in info on the "track app" also. There's some here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/porsche-track-prec... but I haven't been able to determine whether the video camera is included as an integral part of the setup, or whether you have to supply your own. Does anyone have more knowledge of this?

I was told as soon as the OPC hears from head office regarding build slot dates they will contact me to lock in my spec. I hope it’s sooner rather than later as the more time I spend on the configurator the more expensive its getting.

spoke to my contact at the OPC where my deposit is placed. He tells me that there have not been any confirmations yet on allocations. He says that the only thing that he knows is that they are likely to get 3 cars for 2015 but is still unable to confirm in writing whether I will get a car or not because they have not yet been given their allocations. I believe him as he seems a very professional guy and has never lied to me. It surprises me that a number of people on here have had official confirmations and I would be interested to know if any of the people who have been informed that they are getting a car have had it confirmed in writing. As I am 3rd in the queue he tells me that I will get a 2015 car but due to group policy he is unable to confirm this in writing until they have been given their allocations.

Has anyone else been told the same?

The only thing I have had recently is an email telling me they have my order and will be in touch with the build date once it is confirmed to them.I was told verbally I am getting their first one.(and I dont have a 918 ,nor have I ever bought a car from them .)

Dog $hite brown would even look good in a studio with some photoshop wizardry.

On a normal dark, dank Great British summers day though, it'd look like dog $hite brown.

The yellow would be fine in the Californian sun....

Does look stunning in yellow but I think I'm too old for it (45 years old) My son who is 18 is telling me that yellow is the only colour!

I am leaning towards guards red or sapphire blue, both with black wheels

Well I'm 47 and I don't feel too old for it. In fact quite the opposite, when I was younger I was much more concerned with resale values and frequently opted for the safety of Black and Silver. I am finding that as I get older I just think "f**k it, life is too short so go for what you really want!"

Sapphire Blue is lovely, but Im not 100% sure it's at home as a GT colour. Plus you could only really go for the silver stitching as both Red and Yellow wouldn't look that good. Yellow stitching is the "unique offering" of the GT4 so seems a shame not to make the most of it, but that means the exterior really has to be Yellow, Black or possibly White.

Best picture I have found so far of the Satin Black wheels (from the PH review). I'm thinking they would look damn good on Racing Yellow car too!

You are going to be driving around in a car with a large front splitter, pronounced air intakes and a duck bill spoiler with a huge bolt on wing above it. If your'e not too old for that lot (is any petrolhead) then you are not too old for a loud colour to go with it all.Spec it to enjoy it.

Congratulations! Does that mean that your OPC will be getting more than 3 for 2015? Did they say how many they are now getting?
Didn't ask but last I was told they were getting 4 so as that means I am def getting one this year didn't ask if that was as a result of more cars or just me moving up the list.

Me being local to the garage, within 25 miles, played a part as they know they will get service, warranty work and repeat business.

On the basis of all the studio shots (some nice downloads on the dealer websites of the GT4 in a concrete garage) I've been leaning towards yellow but I don't know whether it's because it suits the GT4 or if it's just the studio lighting and photo colour saturation - I haven't been as keen on the daylight shots or other Caymans in yellow. However since seeing the photos on Chris Harris's review I'm thinking silver - it shows the curves the most. https://grrc.goodwood.com/road/drives-and-rides/po... silver. Hopefully I'll get a better idea at Geneva tomorrow although I've seen only yellow at the show in photos.

Never been great with colour combinations but to my mind Sapphire Blue and the yellow of the Carbon brake calipers works really well, would have thought that yellow stitching would work as the interior highlight too.
