never know of filmimg to be banned, most are fixed units these days and are allowed.

never seen people do hand held filming they would be thrown off.

Don't really see racing either, but I tend to use good Track day organisers who would send these idiots home.

At the moment looks like I'm first in line for a 2016 car - unless the allocation is increased for 2015.

Being positive, at least I'll get the chance of a custom colour.

How do you know that Porsche will offer the GT4 with a PDK box?

Nothings guaranteed in Porsche world......but a PDK box for next year is highly likely and is my choice given the apparant flawed tall gearing of the 'manuel'......

The weight difference between the GT4 steel brakes and GT4 PCCBs is 17kg.
They say as a rule of thumb that weight reduction in unsprung mass counts double so yes, it's quite significant. I wish Porsche offered a resurfacing service or trade-in program for the rotors, then I'd spec ceramics in a heartbeat.
Thanks for the info. I measured a 396mm CCB disc vs a 389mm cast iron disc from another manufacturer in the past and the weight difference was around 7kg. Taking into account other differences in the setup and less weight save for the rear discs, then its hard to question the 17kg. Like you, they'd be one of the first options I would spec.
Reducing unsprung weight by 17kg is very tempting and if it was all that was needed to make the car perfect I would specify them. However, and I say this as someone with an order, the car is compromised by a non-GT motor and tall gearing, but with the upside of a bargain price. When the standard brakes provide all the braking performance you will ever need I think the extra cost of ceramics is disproportionate to the price of the car and takes away too much of that upside.

he loves PDK, but I agree doubt we will see a PDK GT4 we have a 2 year run of these cars, then the gen 2 launch then maybe in 5 years a new GT4 which then prob will have PDK.

Just sat in the GT4 at Geneva show. Buckets are fantastic. As to ground clearance well using my iPhone ruler I would say around 100mm.

Looks great in the flesh.

Its what I am hearing from Porsche and yes, as Mr D rightly says I would prefer PDK now largely due to the apparant tall gearing although originally opted for manual.

But as we all know nothing is guaranteed.....

I asked at Geneva and answer was manual only no planned pdk. Doesn't mean it won't happen but not in short term

Clutch pedal quite heavy as you would expect but could be a pain in traffic. Still car designed for the track rather than a daily drive
