Hi Folks, Firstly apologies as I'am sure this must have been asked/answered previously. I have an initial deposit (LOI) down for a CGTS; however would prefer a GT4. I guess I can switch to a GT4? Have been told expect delivery for the CGTS as Jan/Feb 2016. If I switched to a GT4 would I expect a 2016 delivery? I know all 2015's are sold.

I doubt you'd be able to swap given that there's a long line for 2016 too.

I expected there would be an even longer wait for the GT4. But I guess once I break the news to my OPC that it's a GT4 (I don't mind the extra long wait) or nothing & I want my initial deposit on the CGTS back I'am sure they would rather keep my money & place me in the queue. i have decided in the meantime I'am going to chop my beemer for a 997 CS2 so really don't mind the wait.

Look forward to hearing the OPC's response.

Although, they already have deposits on potential 2016 cars.

Not a chance IMO. Good luck anyhow, worth an ask.

Was told I was 9th at my OPC. I asked what are my realistic chances and was told to keep my deposit down and I will be given a definitive yes/no in September. Still have deposit down in hope that some other guys above will get impatient but I'm starting to get resigned to fact that I'm 99 percent sure I ain't gonna get one!! Maybe! No offer of Spyder either so looks like I'll be leaving the brand once I'm ready to change out my 981 S.

Hi all,

As many have said here Porsche has made a Cayman that people actualy want to buy.
But the handling and allocation of the GT4 stinks its apauling.
Customer service what customer service leaves a nasty taste.
The GT4 seems to be for a few select few with people being bumped.
Customers new and old are not impressed.
Make some more for god sake Porsche.
Keep customers happy.
Dear god have we not got over this yet!!! Let it go. Limited model going to good customers and those that got in early. Are people so childish and spoilt when Rolex do a limited run model?!?
I'm afraid that's not quite true DMC2, according to my OPC irrelevant of where you are on the LOI list Porsche UK have final say on who the cars are allocated to. They are looking at previous ownership, spend, and potential for future spend! I'm high up the list and in reality should get one of the allocation but I've been told it's not certain based on the above especially as this would be my 1st GT car!

By way of an update for me... I got a call from Mark at OPC Guildford on Thursday. He confirmed that I would NOT be getting a car. I was No.6 on the LOI list.

We actually had a good chat and he was very honest about the fact that they had to allocate them to 'better' (paraphrasing) customers. I get that and accept it.

I think I have suffered by living abroad for 5yrs and, as you guys know, I'd already spent the money (well, half of it) on some other cars anyway as I knew this was coming.

I told him that, that there were no hard feelings and I'd stop by this month for a chat and a coffee anyway.

One of my best mates (and PH lurker) is a VERY good customer of the OPC and will be getting a Spyder despite (I think) no discussions with them about these cars prior to the last week or two.

Good luck to those still waiting to here or waiting for a car - looking forward to the threads when they first start being delivered!!

I have a Sept slot, but it seems an 8 weeks wait on top of that for buckets now.

Not Seen any June/July UK build slots, and every OPC just seems to have 1 per month starting August.

So 1st cars with no buckets looks like late Sept del and 1st cars with buckets Nov.

I now expect a Dec car from a Sept build date because of buckets so will get it registered as a 2016 car, A LONG wait .....

I am number 3 on the list at OPC Sutton Coldfield and have been confirmed a car for September build and late September/early October delivery. I have been told that Number 1 on list has an August build and numbers 2 & 3 have September build.

Should I delay for the seats??

I have emailed a company to enquire about having the car wrapped in either Mexico blue or Riviera blue. This will also protect the paint and ensure that it does not suffer any stone chips.

Any advice on Mexico or Riviera???

I'm inpatient though and, as you say, realistically the car will arrive in December (September build slot) so would wait to register in 2016.

I was speaking to the dp at my dealers last week,he said that although they had been allocated cars 'he' had not decided who gets any of the others apart from me yet,and I am 100% certain it was his decision that applied to me (porsche owed me big time for treating me like a tt with a new 997turbo),so I would on that believe it is the dealers who decide who gets.

All 918 customers (VIP's) were offered GT4 first before anyone else on the LOI list, and if they have spent that type of cash on the 918 they should get some preferential treatment in my view.

This info doesn't contradict DCM2's comment anyway, it just adds priorities.
